Parsha Talk
When students walk into my classroom seconds late, I sometimes share with them a lecture about the slippery slope of soon arriving minutes late, then skipping class entirely, then skipping school, then becoming friends with the wrong crowd, never finding a job or a family, and ending up destitute on the side of the road. Students are often left with the question "all of this from being 2 seconds late for class?!"

In Case You Missed It
We are so grateful and appreciative of our amazing parents, and also non-parent volunteers and lay leaders, who have made such a tremendous difference through their volunteering, creating a strong and resilient RMBA family. The chart below represents only the recorded volunteer opportunities in an abridged school year.

Butterfly Flowers
It was a busy week in Ms. Bernosky's 4th grade class! Students made Mother's Day cards last week, inspired by a science lesson that discussed butterflies and how they camouflage themselves. They also learned about the salt water cycle and how water from rain as it travels through rocks down towards the ocean picks up salt and adds to the salt content of the ocean. This is depicted above in a computer drawing.

School Marathon
Students in 1st through 5th grades resumed their participation in the School Marathon Project this week, on which each day they run one mile, culminating in 26.2 miles, the length of a full marathon.
If your children are interested in completing their marathon - please follow these steps!
Step 1- Discuss with your children if they are interested in completing it.
Step 3 – Keep Mrs. Schneider posted every mile your child runs and send pictures!
Step 4 – When they have completed the Marathon let Mrs. Schneider know and she will drop off the finishers’ medals and shirts your children has earned! Good Luck! Run Strong!

Circuitry Coding
8th graders in Ms. Goldstein’s physical science class have started to integrate coding into their circuitry lessons. Last week they learned how to write code that will turn lights on in a sequence, and used the code to control a traffic light byte. They learned how to wire the board correctly to complete the circuit, then how to manipulate the code so that the lights flash on, then off, for different lengths of time to create a pattern.

אני תמיד נשאר אני which translates to "I Always Stay Me."
