Dear St. Louis Families,
We have had a week! We have said good-bye to our preschool Lambs, Monkeys, Pandas, and Zebras, we have been wrapping up final assessments, and we have had some fun with a traditional field day. K-4th grade students had fun with potato sacks, hula hoops, dunking teachers with spot-on aims, and running relays this morning. Sadly, thunderstorms wreaked havoc for our older students, but we fortunately have contingency plans for field day on Monday. I am particularly grateful for so many alumni who came back to assist with these events and make field day possible. Our week ended with our Hawks' cheerleaders providing some spirit and cheers.
The final tallies are in from Boosterthon, and I am so pleased and grateful for every St. Louis family. Your incredible efforts and generosity have grossed approximately $54,000 and we will net close to $29,000 after expenses. This means that not only do I get slimed, but we will be able to end our school year June 10th. Students will be dismissed at 11:30am Thursday, June 10th (EDC will be available until 3:30pm), and report cards for grades 1-8 will be mailed home.
We are approaching our final week of school, and I am humbled and blessed to be partnering with all of you in support of your children. Know that the teachers and I are impressed with the growth, resilience, and perseverance in each of our students this year. We will celebrate our Kinder students Wednesday, June 9th in a moving up ceremony beginning at 9:00am for K-9 and 10:00am for K-10. Please remember that we are following with all health and safety mitigations; masks and spacing are still required for this event. We will also celebrate our 8th Grade Wednesday, June 9th at 5pm in the church with a graduation prayer service. A dedicated reminder message was sent to 8th grade families earlier today.
Wishing you all a peaceful weekend!
God Bless,
Anne M. Dyke
Principal

The St. Louis Class of 2021 has gifted the school and church community with a Little Free Library. The library is located in front of the school, on the left side. It has been filled with books by the 8th graders, and it is ready to be enjoyed. Just in time for summer reading! Whether you are looking for something to read, or you are ready to pass on a book to another, please stop by and check it out.
A special thanks to all the 8th graders and their families who contributed to this project, especially 8th grade parents Jon Hixson for building the library and Thomas Petrilli, owner of Lyons Contracting, for installing a beautiful copper roof.

Battle of the Books Team Places 2nd in the Diocesan Competition
The St. Louis Battle of the Books team met virtually all year and participated in the first ever virtual Diocesan Battle of the Books competition. Sixth graders Jason Day, Summer Deeds, Ryan Fannon, Ian Hixson, Eva Krut and Kate Stern read 16 books this school year and had a perfect score in the oral round. After completion of the lightening round, they placed 2nd overall. Congratulations!

Google Accounts for 8th Graders and Non-returning Students
As your student leaves St. Louis Catholic School, we wish them the best and won’t ever forget them. We will, however, be forgetting their Google accounts. All students who are leaving the school will have their account, and all its data, deleted on July 23, 2021. If your student has any documents, photos, data, etc. saved to their Google account (@stlouisschool.org) they must save it to a personal account, flashdrive, computer, or some alternative storage format. Anything that is not backed up elsewhere will be lost.
