Dear Families,
Welcome to another exciting school year at Copper Creek Elementary School! We hope that all of you had a wonderful and relaxing summer. Our PTO board has been working hard all summer to plan for the 2019 - 2020 school year and we are really excited about our upcoming events.
The first few weeks of school are jam packed with fun events.
Join us for donuts and coffee, in front of the office, for
Tears and Cheers after you drop off your kids on the first day of school. Learn a little about what the Copper Creek PTO does or just stop by and say hi!
Friday, August 16th, meet up with old friends and new in the MRP at 6:30 and enjoy a movie, dinner and popcorn for our first
Movie Night of the year.
Enjoy the cooler mornings and get ready for some laughter on Friday, August 23th. Our biggest fundraiser of the year will take place at 8:30am.
HAWK WALK is fun for the whole family. It includes a fun run, cheerleaders from the high schools, mascots, and some lucky kids will get to turn our principal, Mr. Laumets, and a suprise guest into a human ice cream sundae.
Earning money for Copper Creek is our number one priority. There are so many easy, and painless ways you can help! Tuesday, September 2nd, enjoy dinner at Chipotle Oro Valley and they will donate a portion of the proceeds back to the school.
Our PTO holds public meetings in the Copper Creek Library at 7pm on the first Monday of every other month. (Unless it falls on a holiday.) Watch the Calendar in Notes Home for details.

Meet the Teacher Day
Wednesday, August 7th
Bring your supplies and meet your new teacher!
Come see what amazing after school opportunities we have at Copper Creek! PTO, Drama Kids, Girl Scouts, and ATSK will all have tables set up for information.
The PTO also has a scavenger hunt for the kids, so be sure to pick up a scavenger hunt when you come into school (and before you go to your child's classroom). Once you've finished, stop by the PTO table in the courtyard for a treat!

The PTO's largest fundraiser the Hawk Walk is on Friday, August 23rd at 8:30am. Mark your calendars and bring your family to join in the fun and volunteer for this wonderful event.
Please look for additional details regarding Hawk Walk in the letter/donation collection envelopes that will go home on August 12 (Monday)

Is your 1st-5th grader interested in Art?
Join Ms. Fengler and Mrs. McCoy on Wednesdays from 2:20-3:30 for a fun and exciting art class.
This 8 week class will run from
August 21 - October 9 for $80.
This first session of art has a variety of one-of-a-kind art projects planned with a focus on famous artists, art styles, fun surprises, and super cool art supplies.
Week 1: "Who Let the Dogs (or Cats) Out" -(Ron Burns) Canvans/acrylic painting
Week 2: Bendable wire dog or cat sculpture- w/ plaster strips/acrylic paint
Week 3: Plaster/Paint/Embellish
Week 4: "SUN" art/ nature print paper/Texture prints
Week 5: Glass (plastic) 3/D forms (Dale Chihuly)
Week 6: Leaf spinning
Week 7: Surprise!
Week 8: Critique, wrap-up, party

Join us for Family Movie Night
Friday, August 16th
Grab your blankets & chairs, meet up with old friends, and new, and join us in the MPR for our back to school movie night. Pizza, popcorn, otter pops, and drinks will be available for purchase. Doors open at 6:30. The movie will start
about 7pm.
