What:  The Greater Burlington Partnership is excited to partner with the Burlington Bees again this year! Enjoy all of the action at Community Field when the Burlington Bees take on the Kane County Cougars, followed by fireworks. Pre-ordered tickets are $4 each when buying for 10+ by August 5. The Jefferson St. Farmers Market is in the 300 - 500 blocks on Thursday from 4:30 to 7 PM with fresh produce, baked goods, food vendors, crafts, live music by Pat Kaltefleiter, and the annual jalapeno eating contest! The Jefferson St. Farmers Market is organized by Downtown Partners, Inc. and supported by Two Rivers Bank & Trust.
Downtown Partners is seeking project proposals for the state funded Main Street Challenge Grant. The maximum grant award is $75,000 with a minimum 1:1 cash match required. The project must be downtown; work already begun is not eligible for funding. For application information, go to GreaterBurlington.com. The project proposal deadline is August 16.

What: The Burlington Shakespeare Club presents Will Watch III, with two free showings of Much Ado About Nothing. There will also be a free performance by the Capitol Theater Drama Group and a welcome reception with cash bar and complimentary appetizers.

What: This summer's flooding and resultant damage to Burlington Memorial Auditorium has forced the Burlington Civic Music Association to delay the debut of its 90th season of artistry on the river. The new schedule of performances is: Le Cirque Esprit on October 15, The Four Italian Tenors on November 4, Fandango! on January 8 (performance will take place as scheduled at The Capitol Theater), Russian National Ballet on February 15, A Cappella Live! on March 31, Sultans of String on April 21, The Texas Tenors on May 15.

What: Free and open to the public. All ages are invited to experience Japanese Culture through the Art of Taiko. Taiko drums are traditional Japanese instruments used in festivals and musical performances around the world.
