Seeking Child Care Providers for Thrive by 5 Early Learning (QIS)
Applications are open to become a part of the Thrive by 5 Early Learning Quality Improvement system (QIS). Through the Thrive by 5 QIS, early learning programs and teachers will have access to comprehensive opportunities to improve and sustain high-quality early learning programs. Licensed child care programs that meet all of the following criteria qualify to participate; those meeting some criteria may qualify, depending on available resources:
- Serve 30 percent or more young children (under age 6) receiving a school readiness subsidy
- Located in a low-income neighborhood
- Serve infants and toddlers
Applications for 2020-2121 must be submitted no later than June 1. For instructions and

Young Talent Big Dreams Countywide Competition Moves Online
The show must go on! Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre, together with presenting sponsor The Children’s Trust, have gone virtual to reopen auditions for the 10th anniversary season of Young Talent Big Dreams (YTBD), the most widespread talent competition for youth in the county. The competition will continue with kids between the ages of 8-17 submitting preliminary round audition videos that showcase their talents. Prizes remain the same and the semifinals and finals will be held in front of live audiences in late August and September, respectively, at The Miracle Theatre in Coral Gables, conditions permitting.

StayHome.Miami Launches to Provide Fun & Activities for Families
The Children's Trust has launched
StayHome.Miami
, a new website that serves as a central repository for resources to parents and the community at large during the COVID-19 crisis. This resource is full of valuable information to help families cope with the challenges they are facing right now. More importantly, it give parents and caregivers useful tips and activities to help them and their children navigate the disruptions to daily lives. StayHome.Miami will help families enjoy their time together while staying safe at home. Resources and activities include read-aloud e-books, free downloadable coloring books, and many other fun and interactive options. If you have any resources, activities, or ideas to contribute to the website, please reach out to us and let us know.

Still Time to Fill Out Census Online
If you haven't received an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census online, or have but have not yet done so, there is still time. Options to fill out the census are available online, by phone or by mail. As providers, you are in a unique position to help direct families on filling out the census and informing them that it's safe, easy and important. Remember, the individuals you serve are often those who will most benefit from an accurate census count.

Funders' Roundtable: Adapting To The Coronavirus Pandemic? *
The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the landscape of funding. While times are uncertain, there's been a great deal of support from governments, private donors, and foundations alike in contributing resources and information to support nonprofits through these uncertain times.
The first Virtual Funders' Roundtable will give participants a chance to chat with local foundations to hear about their experiences, recommendations and resources related to working through COVID-19. The last half an hour will be open to Q&A from participants. Funders joining the roundtable discussion are: Fernanda M. Kuchkarian, MPH, Program Officer & Grants Manager at the Health Foundation of South Florida; Lindsey Linzer, Senior Director of Programs and Grants Administration at The Miami Foundation; Belissa Alvarez, Director at The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation; and Mary Snow, Executive Director at the Coral Gables Foundation.
The event is FREE and takes place Thursday, May 14, from 10-11 a.m.

Survey of Nonprofit Organization Leaders in Miami-Dade County *
In collaboration with Miami-Dade County, the FIU Jorge M. Pèrez Metropolitan Center is conducting a survey to understand how the local nonprofit sector is managing through the COVID-19 crisis. Your responses are anonymous and confidential. The results of this survey will let our community and donors have the necessary information to support the nonprofit sector during these difficult times.
The results of the survey will be released as part of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Thursday Roundtable webinar series on May 28 at 1 p.m.

Things can be stressful right now, especially for youth. That's why the You Visit Foundation is pleased to bring you a mindfulness session to help manage stress and regulate emotions to experience more fulfillment in daily life.
During this live, guided session, participants will gain access to information, tools, and mindfulness practices that will contribute to their overall well-being. Mindfulness educator Rafael Puebla will present. Providers are encouraged to share the session with their participants and families.

Community Relations Coordinator (Full Time)
To assist in all areas of fund-raising for the agency. Assist in the organization of special events and VIP tours. Solicits the community for donations of goods and services. Represents the agency at various community events. Assists with website and social media content and updates. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Public Relations from an accredited College/University plus a minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in the area of Marketing/Public Relations required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, be energetic, detail-oriented, and have great organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record.
Donor Relations Coordinator (Full Time)
The Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, securing and retention of donor sponsorships for children’s activities on/off campus. Will work in collaboration with the Residential department in determining which type of donor sponsorships are needed for all children’s activities including spring break and summer vacation. Will also be responsible for the development, coordination and execution of all service projects including securing sponsorship and follow-up for same. Assists with minor and major fundraising events. Minimum Associates degree or sixty (60) credits in Communications, Education, Child Development or related field from an accredited College/University plus two (2) years of related work experience required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, be energetic, detail-oriented, and have great organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record.
Volunteer Coordinator (Full Time)
Must be flexible and will work some Saturdays. Must enjoy motivating others, be energetic, be able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and meet required deadlines. Recruit, select, screen, orient, and train volunteers; process background screening for volunteers; conduct tours of the facility for volunteers and visiting groups; assign, supervise and evaluate programs for volunteers and/or assist supervisory staff in this task. Plan and facilitate meetings for children and volunteers as well as coordinate activities and projects (i.e. group activities, volunteer participation, volunteer recognitions, etc.). Develop and prepare educational materials for volunteer training and volunteer newsletter; represent the agency and promote programs through outreach activities and networking. Respond to volunteer opportunities enquiries; maintain files and records as required by program; assist Development Department with special events. Position requires public speaking, to include but not limited to presentations at schools, civic and corporate groups. Also must have the ability to fundraise. Minimum Associates Degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Communications, Education, Event Management, Public Relations, Hospitality or related field from an accredited College/University plus two years of related work experience required.
Payroll Coordinator (Temporary 3 – 6 MONTHS)
Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, to assist with data entry and other duties as assigned. Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Excel. High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be detail-oriented and have great organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a Florida Driver’s License and a good driving record.
UAC Case Aide (Full Time)
Responsible for transportation of children to all assigned appointments (visitations, medical, dental, medication management and court). Must be able to perform clerical duties including typing, report writing and other related duties. Candidate must be energetic, have great communication and organizational skills, and must have the ability to multi-task. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with a good driving record. High school diploma and/or equivalent. Good writing skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions is required. Must be available for on-call duties including weekends. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
UAC Case Manager (Full Time)
Must be flexible with schedule. Responsible for client intake, assessments, reunification packages, the development and implementation of case/service plans. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in the Behavioral Sciences, Human Services or Social Services fields from an accredited College/University plus 1-2 years of progressive employment experience in the aforementioned fields. Child welfare and/or case management experience is preferred. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
UAC Resident Counselor (2nd & 3rd SHIFT, Full Time)
Responsible for the care and supervision of children and assist in teaching life skills to teens. Some domestic duties involved. Must be creative, energetic and patient. Candidate must have a valid Florida driver’s license and a good driving record; driving responsibilities required. Must have a High School diploma or equivalent degree, AA and Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited College/University plus a minimum of one year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting. Must be able to work weekends. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
UAC Travel Case Aide (Part Time)
Responsible for accompanying UAC Minors to locations throughout the U.S. in order to reunite them with their qualified sponsors. Must be energetic and detail-oriented. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which includes weekends. High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have good writing/documentation and organizational skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license. Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
