Meet the Grantmakers United for Trans Communities (GUTC) Leadership Development Fellows!  
Created to respond to the urgent unmet need for leadership development and support for trans, gender non-conforming, and non-binary staff in philanthropy, GUTC's Leadership Development Fellowship will provide ongoing support, peer networking, and professional development to its fellows over a 12-month period, beginning in April 2018. Funding Forward 2018
We are pleased to announce that Funding Forward 2018 will take place from March 14th-16th in New Orleans! Our annual gathering of grantmakers committed to LGBTQ issues promises to bring together more than 200 of the most influential people in LGBTQ philanthropy!

Research, Resources, and Updates
  • Trulia, the online real estate search service, partnered with MAP to release a first-of-its-kind feature that allows people searching for housing to better understand the level of protections for LGBT people.
  • Funders for LGBTQ Issues board member and CEO of the Women's Foundation of California, Surina Khan, published this recent piece in collaboration with Senator Holly Mitchell advocating for philanthropic support of policy advocacy that advances gender, racial, and economic justice.
Requests for Proposals

  • Funding Opportunities from the New York Women's Foundation

    The New York Women's Foundation announced a call for applications in the areas of Civic Engagement, Early Investment, and the Girls IGNITE! Grantmaking initiative. These three grantmaking programs will support improving civic engagement in New York City, building leadership and supporting community-based solutions, and investing in girls, young women, and gender fluid youth. Full grant guidelines and application instructions are available here.
  • The Women's Foundation of California is seeking applications for the Philanthropy and Public Policy Institute, a unique opportunity to engage with California's most prominent leaders working for progressive policy change, including 2018 PPPI Chair State Senator Holly J. Mitchell. All participants will be invited to the Women's Policy Institute Legislative Reception which celebrates the accomplishments of our WPI fellows and offers the opportunity to speak with some of California's leading legislators and community advocates. Applications are due February 27, 2018.
  • ViiV Healthcare announced the opening of the Positive Action Community Grants 2018 funding cycle for organizations in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, part of ViiV Healthcare's ongoing commitment to supporting community organizations that work to address HIV/AIDS disparities in the U.S. and close the gaps in care for those most affected.   • Chicago-based SHE100 Announces New Grants Round

    SHE100, a Chicago-based LGBTQ giving circle announced a new round of grants at a ceremony at Center on Halsted Jan. 28. Grantees in this recent grant cycle included Masjid al-Rabia , Quare Square Collective, and Changing Worlds.
