An Update from us on COVID-19

We know that 2020 has brought a lot of uncertainty and changes into all of our lives.
As the past months have progressed, we have spent a lot of time reviewing the most up to date information from the state, county, and CDC guidelines. The overall safety of our guests, campers, staff and supporters has been on the forethought in many discussions of the services that we can provide during this time with restrictions and concerns that are related to COVID19.

Based on the information that we have today, the Luther Park Board of Directors and Luther Park Leadership Staff has decided to cancel all summer programs for 2020 through August 8. Please know that this decision comes with great loss, many tears shed, and disbelief of the reality that this pandemic has created for so many in our community and country. We will continue to lift you all up in prayer!

We ask you to please pray for camp! We know that these times have caused tremendous loss for everyone, including our year-round ministry. Loss of the opportunity to provide large group activities to grow faith in a fun environment to thousands of children. Loss of our summer counseling staff where these young adults discover their strengths and share their passions. Loss of income financially, having to cancel all programming, events and rental groups.
In this time of uncertainty, we turn to God and find hope!
Psalm 33:22 May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you.

As we look ahead and work on things that we "can" do, we wanted to share some thoughts in response to some of the common questions that may arise.

Parents: We want to provide you with options for any payments that you have made for the 2020 Summer season. Please email our Program Director, Ross with your directive to: ross@lutherpark.org or call the office at 715-859-2215.
Account Balance Options:
  • Transfer your balance towards a future programming event
  • Make a donation of all or part of the balance
  • Request a partial or full refund
  • A combination of the above

Campers: We are heartbroken with you! We are working on creative ideas where we can still find a way to nurture your faith in a creative capacity this summer and beyond. Watch for details and more information as we progress into summer.
Keep in mind the Recharge retreats that we will offer in the Fall, we plan to have overnight retreats on Oct 2-3 & Oct 23-24.

Groups: We are hopeful to provide small group family reservations as guidelines allow, over the summer and into fall. We plan to begin our retreat season programming August 8th with a modified family camp week.

Individuals and Churches: The reality of today is that since mid-March we have had to cancel all programming, events, and rental groups. The unknowns of these current times make it hard to plan for the situation that we are facing. We call upon you now during these times of trial and loss to help see us through.
  • We ask you to prayerfully consider any financial support you can provide
  • We ask for your thoughts, prayers and continued patience as things evolve

There is still so much to accomplish yet this summer in this year-round ministry... maintenance to be done and spiritual outreach to occur in unique ways.

How can you help?
  • Volunteer: individuals or groups within a household can schedule volunteer time at camp- call ahead for projects and availability
  • Donate: Gifts in Kind or Thrivent Action Grants are vital to our support, especially since our large work day this Spring was cancelled

SAVE THE DATE... Heart for Luther Park, our annual art, craft and quilt auction is scheduled for Sunday, August 9th, 2020. We are currently accepting donations and items for this event.

Please watch for updates and ongoing communications. We encourage you to stay connected through our social media pages and our website.

If you have any questions or other concerns please reach out to us.
Your thoughts, prayers and ongoing support are very much appreciated.
