Dear Staff,
In our region and in our schools, there is much to celebrate. In the spotlight during the past month we’ve seen Buckley Community Schools and teacher Sara Papineau selected to be a part of the statewide Innovative Educator Corps (IEC). Ms. Papineau’s efforts awarded the district a $10,000 grant to bring additional advanced curriculum to Buckley’s middle and high school students, expanding opportunities to explore computer numerical control (CNC) technology. Another standout was Suttons Bay Public Schools for receiving an award of more than $30,000 to advance their elementary and middle school VEX robotics program. As servant leaders, our propensity when achievement is gained is to let others enjoy the well-deserved limelight. However, we would be remiss if we did not celebrate a very prestigious honor bestowed upon one of our own TBAISD programs. On January 28, our CTC Film and New Media team was one of three groups recognized by the Michigan Department of Education with the 2019 Excellence in Practice Award at a ceremony
in Grand Rapids
. This was the
fifth
CTC program in nine years to receive this distinguished accolade. Congratulations to our friends, colleagues, and students in the Film and New Media program!
While we have so much to be proud of, we continue to strive to provide the best programs and services to our students, families and local schools. To that end, during the month of March we will be engaging our stakeholders in a comprehensive needs assessment survey. As mentioned in the
January
Check It Out
, the feedback we will be seeking will coincide with our
Focus Group results
and will be the primary driver for building our long range strategic plan. YOUR participation will be extremely beneficial as we strive to improve our service...Lead, Serve and Support!
Respectfully,
Nick Ceglarek, Ed.D.
