Renewing Members

Hollie is in Hawaii celebrating her 30th birthday. When she returns, so will the list of renewing members.

State Farm - Rob Hendrickson Agency was tooting his own horn at this AM in 2017. But all of you should be tooting your own horns about the amazing work you are doing. The Chamber newsletter and social media platforms are a great way to toot your own horn.
Trivia Night at Spud Monkey's started off with chamber members glad to be with each other. Mt. Hood Hospice, RP Computing, REAP INC., Mortgage Express, Bank of America and the Ambassador Chair-Elect Lori Stahlman, had a great time together. Try Local First sponsored by Gresham Ford is always fun.
School Board Candidate Forum 2021
Gresham Area School Board Candidate Forum
School Board Candidates for Gresham-Barlow School District and Mt. Hood Community College, in contested races, had the opportunity to speak to our membership at a forum. The candidates that responded to the offer did a great job telling the audience why they feel they should be elected. Click below to get informed and watch the Virtual Forum.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
OREGON STATE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE gives these bills a thumbs up or thumbs down:

👍HB 3389. Unemployment tax rate relief on employers, particularly those whose experience ratings were negatively impacted by the pandemic. Note: Bill passed out of House and is now in Senate Chamber.

👎HB 2814: Requires DEQ to study program and policy approaches to reducing diesel emissions attributable to “indirect sources” of air contamination including construction sites. (Example: If you build an apartment complex with garages and parking spaces, which according to HB 2814 will be an indirect source of gases, DEQ would be the additional entity issuing permits and fees for the project.)

5 Family-Friendly Hikes Around Portland

As any parent knows, hiking with kids is a blast — until it’s not. Little hikers are bound to get tired and hungry, but the mix of right strategies can keep the adventure going just a little bit longer.

So says Richard Tammar, a Portland photographer and blogger at Things to Do in Portland with Children. “I really enjoy hiking, and I’m not going to get to do that if the children don’t want to do it too,” says Tammar, who’s hiked with his 10-year-old son since he was an infant, toting him in the Baby Bjorn. His 13-year-old stepdaughter joined in later.
