This will be a CLR first, although it's been on the list to have a happy hour here for a while. White Water Tavern is a legendary dive bar and music venue with a rich history. Tucked away between I-630 and the Capitol View/Stifft Station neighborhood, White Water has served as the home for many up-and-coming bands stopping through Little Rock on tour, and a nostalgic homecoming for many of those same bands after hitting it big. Some of them have even referenced the place in their song lyrics. It's a stage that every local band longs to make it to. And while there won't be any live music during our happy hour, you can bet we'll find some good tunes on the jukebox. Mark your calendar - this is gonna be a fun one.

Create Little Rock Presents:
Serve the Rock
Thursday, March 8th, 5-7pm
Dickey-Stephens Park
Serve the Rock is Create Little Rock's annual event providing CLR members and other professionals the opportunity get engaged in the community.
Area nonprofits set up booths, and attendees can wander from booth to booth learning about the nonprofits and their various missions and needs. Think of it as a job fair for volunteerism, along with beer, wine, and food included in the $10 ticket price. (
CLR members who register below get in free.) It's a great way to get plugged in and make a difference! Last year we had 50 nonprofits participating and over 400 attendees!
CLR members can
REGISTER HERE for free using the promo code CLR19.

Putting on Serve the Rock takes a lot of effort, and having CLR members volunteer to serve beer/wine and help with setup and take-down is critical!
We'll need help in 3 shifts:
3:00-4:30pm
Setup and directing the nonprofits to their designate spots.
4:30-6:00pm
Any final setup needs and serving beer/wine, taking tickets, checking IDs, etc.
6:00-7:30pm
An hour of those same needs as the 4:30 shift then a half hour of helping with the take-down.
If you sign up for a shift, it is not necessary to also register for the event.

Get Involved: Join A Committee
|
|
Looking to get involved? Create Little Rock has 4
committees you can join. Learn about them below, and email the committee chair to get on the list. Committee meeting schedules are determined by each of the committee chairs.
Be501 Committee:
Be501.com was conceived by the Economic Development Committee of Create Little Rock's
Think Big Little Rock initiative. It's designed to be a 1-stop shop for things to do in the Little Rock Region. It's in its beta phase while we build up a committee of volunteers to regularly contribute upcoming events and activities to the site. The Be501 committee will be chaired by
Kody Robinson, CLR's new Communications Chairman. If you'd like to be an influencer, email Kody and join his committee.
Talent Development Committee:
Responsible for selecting speakers for our Unplugged Speaker Series, organizing the Get on Board program, and facilitating Serve the Rock.
Land in the Rock Committee:
Organizes
our annual Land in the Rock summer program is designed to entertain interns, law clerks, and medical residents who are here for the summer and demonstrate to them what Little Rock has to offer. These events are also for young professionals who have recently moved to Little Rock. To see last summer's schedule, visit our Land in the Rock page.
PopUp in the Rock Committee:
