Kairos Vol. 4, Issue #7

SLUMC Building Front
Rev. Marvin Arnpriester

Friends,

Lindsay Hall has new tables which have been purchased and donated by the Krafters. They replace the tables which we have used for years. The old tables have been donated to two churches who can use them in their ministry.

Covered parking outside of the Education Building has been paid for by an anonymous gift and the Krafters. These improvements are already making a difference in our church and we are grateful.

From time to time someone comes in to see me desiring to give a financial gift to purchase something needed or desired for the church. Most of the time they do not want their name attached to the gift. When their gift is given, it is placed in our designated special fund until needed.  I keep a list of items needed, right now my list is very short. If you have a suggestion to put on the list please let me know and I will be glad to receive it.

We were recently able to help a church that embezzlement left them without money to pay bills and salaries. I learned of this through our district superintendent. Because of an undesignated gift we were able to give immediate help to the church. I recently received a very nice note of appreciation for the pastor and lay leader of the church.

Thank you for the difference you help our church make in so many ways.

UNISON PRAYER - FEBRUARY 9/10
Unison Prayer Logo
Lord God, worship brings us face to face with you. We marvel at your yearning, self-giving love for us when our love is often self-centered, shallow and weak. You have forgiven us even when we have been unforgiving to each other. When we reflect on all your blessings to us, we find it hard to admit how miserly we are in our giving. Free us from the chains which bind us. Keep loving us, despite our behaviors, so we might grow more and more into the kind of people you created us to be and down deep inside we really want to be. Amen.
