John / John: 10) Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee (Reprise); 9) Hopelessly Devoted to You; 8) We Go Together; 7) Sandy; 6) Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee; 5) Beauty School Dropout; 4) Summer Nights; 3) There Are Worse Things I Could Do; 2) You're the One that I Want; 1) Greased Lightnin'. In 2015, celebrating the 40th anniversary of Grease, People magazine rated the soundtrack's 10 most "iconic" songs. Danny, Sandy, Rizzo and all the T-Birds and Pink Ladies are at Casa MaƱana March 2-10. If this isn't the greatest musical of all time, it's the fan favorite. Put on your dancin' shoes because Casa's Lindsey Rushen-ed over a pair of tickets to opening night.

Leave the pedaling to us: What if you had a chance to explore Fort Worth ... on your own rented Pedego Electric Bike. Vicki Peden, founder of Cowtown Cycle, has introduced the electric bike tours to Fort Worth and it is so hot it's just ...electric. Vicki says the ride is similar to riding a regular bike with an option for a whole lot less work. The quiet electric assist takes care of the hard work with a twist of the wrist. Ride the Trinity Trails. Take the Ale Trail. Rock the River at Panther Island. Tour the Near Southside and Sundance Square. Locks, helmets, and cell phone holders are included in this one-day rental

I'd like to bag this: The Texas Tornadoes leads group most probably is the Chamber's longest, continuous meeters-and-greeters. It has Carole Ann Fleming to thank for that. The Tornadoes have moved here and there, but have been hosted a few years now at Buffalo West by group member and restaurant owner Paul McKinney. Recently, the group invited in a guest speaker, an entrepreneur that designs and produces durable goods from leather, canvas, denim, rawhide and more. Like any good speaker, he had a leave behind, which the Tornadoes gifted to B2B Insider. It's called a zipper bag and has many uses, but the Prospective Ms. B says it would be a fitting and fab bag for your tablet.

Sure, I have 9 friends: Late last month, the Chamber had an early evening event hosted by Pinstripes at the Shops at Clearfork. There was a program, but Mr. B was too busy eating to pay attention. Avocado and garlic hummus. Cobb salad w/bacon. Loaded mac & cheese w/bacon. Caprese panino. Chicken, avocado and bacon pizza. Granola & yogurt parfait w/blueberries. And trays and trays of chocolate chip cookies, the big soft and chewy ones. So, did you know all of this and more is available off-site? Yes, Pinstripes caters and to showcase it, Lisa Hasbach, caterer to the stars (and pin heads), has a catered lunch presentation for 10. You must supply your own bocce and billiards.

Congratulations to the February 6th

A WORD FROM OUR GOLD SPONSORS

HE SAID, SHE SAID, THEY SAIDSoundBytes
golf5.jpg Strokes and stoked: In years past, Express Employment Professionals has had a contest for clients that was centered around a trip and tickets to the Super Bowl. Old hat. This year, it's a trip to the very exclusive Masters Invitational golf tournament and includes two tickets Saturday and Sunday, airfare for two, three-night hotel stay, Friday night reception with speaker and souvenirs.

Does no income = nonprofit? Mr. B (39 cents an hour) is due diligencing a personal non-profit status. Topgolf offers non-profits free space and half off all game play for fundraising events. Mr. B would hold a daily fundraiser.

Book it! Darien George, founder of training/executive recruiting firm Mackenzie Eason, is a first-time author, long-time reader. Darien is one of three authors of Broken Handoff: Saving Your Assets. It is pre-sales on Amazon and due out next week. The book "is the practical guide to company mergers and acquisitions that every owner, CEO and venture capitalist has always needed."

Visit Fort Worth, the city's tourism accelerator, puts on a top-3 Annual Meeting for about 800 people. Rockin' music, chef-driven food, entertainment (last week it was comedy) and just 8-to-10 minutes of a talking head. That would be President and CEO Bob Jameson, who said "the 9.4 million visitors to Fort Worth during 2018 meant more jobs (2,400), more room nights (274,000), more cash registers ringing ($2.6 billion) and more visibility around the world. Let's keep this going!"

And the Oscar goes to...One of the presenters at Visit Fort Worth's Annual Meeting was Michael DeLuca, a three-time Oscar nominee for Best Picture (The Social Network, Moneyball, Captain Phillips) and a three-time producer of the Academy Awards (2017-19). DeLuca lives in Fort Worth.

Real star was...: Visit Fort Worth's Hospitality Award went to the Fort Worth Zoo, which has an estimated annual impact of $206 million. Accepting (and talking) was an African Gray Parrot named Zuri Bird. Zoo Executive Director Mike Fouraker came on afterward with "my mother said to never follow children or animal acts."

"9.4 million visitors to Fort Worth last year. Heck, we even get visitors from Dallas."

Hail to a Halsey winner: Susan Halsey, an attorney (Managing Partner-Jackson Walker) and businesswoman (Chamber Board Chair 2013-14) passed away in 2014 and has a Chamber award in her name. The Susan Halsey Executive Leadership Award recognizes a President, Principal or Chief Executive Officer for "devoting time and energy to strengthen and transform the organization they lead." Nominations can be made online now. Finalists will be selected March 22 and the winner announced at the Chamber Annual Meeting April 17.

The coach? A Jason Garrett is working at Buyers Barricades. Mr. B is told he has great job security.

Slip-sliding away: Eric Harris presented at a Chamber / UTA Business School luncheon last week at Blue Mesa on presenting without presentation decks. It was old school. He told stories and people listened. No cell phones allowed. Why present with a deck when 46 percent start fading away by slide two, Eric asked. "Slides themselves are not the enemy," he said. "Bad slides are."

Kudos: 2019 is the 20th year of The Herd, the twice-daily cattle drive in the Fort Worth Stockyards. First one was June 12, 1999 in front of 15,000 people. Approximately 16 million have watched since that day. Trail Boss / Director is Kristin Jaworski.

Kudos 2: DFW International Airport was selected Air Transport World's Global Airport of the Year.

We're listening: The Texas Education Agency (TEA) did a request from stakeholders to compile a list of industry-based certifications to be used for public school accountability. The new list goes into effect for the 2019-2020 school year and will apply to school accountability ratings in August 2021. Until Friday, the TEA is taking feedback on the list of selected certifications. If you're interested in checking it out and commenting, go here.
