Help with Camp is Available for Youth with Disabilities
|
|
Summer is a time for fun and vacation, but it can also be challenging to find the right summer camp – especially for children with disabilities who have significant support needs. With many children attending school virtually since last March, summer camp presents a wonderful opportunity for many to ease back into a routine and get ready to return to school this Fall.
Thanks to a generous allocation from The Children’s Trust, funding is available to provide supports that create meaningful, safe and inclusive opportunities at Trust-funded summer camps. This is a highly INDIVIDUALIZED process taking into account the needs of each child or youth.
ELIGIBLE children and young adults have a diagnosed condition, and need significant support in areas that include:
- Activities of daily living (eating, dressing, using the rest room);
- Communication;
- Mobility;
- Managing health conditions or taking medication; and/or
- Behaviors that interfere with program participation.
To learn more, contact Maggie Rivera at email below, or call 786.365.2274.
