From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal
Dear Parents,
Thanks to all who brought their furry or finned friends to our Pet Blessing on Friday. It turned out to be a beautiful day!
Halloween! This has always been an exciting time at our school (MY house is already decked out in Halloween finery!) Due to the Covid19 pandemic it will need to look a little different this year. We will still have Halloween celebrations in the classroom but they will be toned down a bit. It is hard to social distance and "party" at the same time. We will not be changing into costumes for our parties this year - you can save that for Trick or Treating in your own neighborhoods if you so choose. Also, we are not going to be able to host our annual Trunk or Treat this year. We have been following CDC protocols and they have recommended specifically no Trunk or Treat. Any celebrations will be more of a family, personal nature this year. I truly look forward to the days when things will get "back to normal"! I thank you for your understanding.
We are very pleased to say that thus far we have stayed very healthy and safe here at St. Anthony on the Lake. My hope and prayer is that this continues in the weeks and months ahead.
Friendly Reminder: If your child is not feeling well, overly sneezy or drippy - please keep them home. It's no fun to sneeze into a mask!
Blessings!
Mrs. Ellen Knippel

First Student Bus Riders
First Student is no longer allowing student guest riders on their routes this year per their COVID Policy. Only students who are registered to take the bus can ride.
Hot Lunch
Good news! The USDA has extended free hot lunch until 9/30/2021. Therefore, hot lunch will continue to be free the rest of the school year and through next September.
Parent/Student Handbook Signature
Please remember to read and sign the Parent/Student Handbook for 2020-2021 school year. A hard copy was sent home a couple of weeks ago. You can also read the handbook and sign the form online.
Mission Wear Day, Oct. 7th
Students should wear their red "Called to be Strong in Spirit" mission shirts with uniform bottoms.
School Photo Retakes, Oct. 8th
Picture Retakes will take place on Thursday (8:00am). Your child may be out of uniform if they are having their school picture retaken. Please be sure to return your original picture envelope. Please let Rebekah know if you plan on having pictures retaken (or missed picture day at orientation in August).
School Photo Proofs Due, Oct. 14th
Many of you received an email with proofs of this year's school pictures. If you did not receive a proof email from Scholastic Reflections and would like a digital option, please send them an email. Order pictures on line or through the school by Oct. 14th. If you don't plan to order, or intend to do a picture retake, send the proof back with a note.
Parent/Student conferences, Oct. 13th or Oct. 22nd
The first conferences of the year will be held virtually. Please return your conference slips by tomorrow. Conferences will be held on Tuesday, October 13th and Thursday, October 22nd from 3 - 7pm. Your child's teacher will then send home directions for a Google meet or ZOOM call for you and your child. Students are expected to attend conferences in grades 2-8. This is a new way of conferencing, but we are confident this can be done successfully.
100% of donations raised by our team will stay right here at St. Anthony on the Lake to help us and our tuition assistance program. Although this year the walk is virtual, our students will be participating in a unique way by kicking up their soles in physical education the week of October 12th! Please consider donating or pledging your loved one(s) as we raise funds for our school. No denomination is too small and all donations and pledges are greatly appreciated. Most importantly, the impact of your donation will do even more to help our school, as generous Soles Walk sponsors have stepped up to match a portion of donations we receive. Support us by texting SOLES43 to 71777, send in a check directly to school, or Make a Donation online.
Culver's Night - Every Night!!
Dine-in, carry-out or drive-thru at the Culver's on Grandview Blvd at any time. Send your receipt into school and 10% of purchase will be donated to school! See flyer below for details.
