Feature Article: Facade Easement Contributions

Owners of historic properties may contribute façade easements for tax credits. The façade easement preserves an historical structure by restricting changes to the structure (structure will be maintained, protected, and preserved forever). The owner may realize tax credits that may total 10-15% of the market value of the property. The credit is determined by regulatory approval and there are a number of factors weighed in the determination.
