Public improvements continue to move forward on 6th Street SW.

6th Street is currently closed between Wilson Avenue and 16th Avenue SW for pavement work and utility improvements. This segment is anticipated to open by end of day Friday, May 28. Work includes improvements to the road surface and transition from four lanes to three lanes.

Wilson Avenue Closure
Starting on Tuesday, June 1, Wilson Avenue SW will be closed to traffic immediately west of 6th Street, for utility and pavement improvements. This closure is anticipated to be in place approximately 3 weeks.

Starting Thursday, June 3, crews will begin removing existing asphalt surface between 33rd Avenue and the bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad.  6th Street traffic will be reduced to a single lane each direction; traffic patterns will shift as work continues. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic while work is underway at the 6th Street and 33rd Avenue intersection.

As always, if you have questions or concerns during the project, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our project team.
