ANNOUNCEMENTS
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2019
  • Congrats to the Woodland Archery Team for taking 1st place in the Middle School/Junior High Division at the Regional Competition! They will represent Woodland and our region at the State Tournament in Hot Springs later this month.
  • Congratulations to Janet Fu, Alan Chen, Taksh Patel, Annie Xu, and Laura Abigail Cate. They competed in the Chapter Level MathCounts competition, and they ALL qualified to compete at the state level, with Janet Fu coming in 3rd place individually and the team taking 4th overall!
  • In case you missed it, check out this 40/29 news interview with Coach Bauer! She has led the Woodland girl's basketball team to three conference wins in a row and a 66-game winning streak! Coach Bauer News Interview
  • It's almost time for Girls on the Run to start! 7th and 8th grade girls can participate in the Girls on the Run after-school program that meets two days each week. They do fun activities and games, have snacks, and work on improving their walking and running. For more information, students should see Ms. McClure in room B-5.
  • The Cheer and Dance tryout information meeting will be held Wed., Feb. 13 at 6 p.m. in the FHS gym. This is for rising 7th-12th grade students who are interested in trying out for the 2019-20 school year.
  • Students going into 9th grade at FHS next school year: There are some deadlines approaching for application courses, auditions, and tryouts. Please visit the FHS website for more information. FHS Application/Audition/Tryout Info
  • Seventh grade students who earned a GPA of 3.5 or better during the first semester received letters this week inviting them to apply for Woodland's chapter of National Junior Honor Society. Students are responsible for obtaining an application from Mrs. Kroening in room D-8. Teacher recommendations are due Mon., Feb. 11 and student applications are due Fri., Feb. 15 at 8:50 a.m.
  • The Yvonne Richardson Community Center will sponsor numerous Summer Fun4Teens Camps for grades 6-8 that are very affordable. For more information and/or to apply, go to http://www.fayetteville-ar.gov.

Feb. 6:    FHS Parent Info Night from 5:30-6:30 
               -rising 9th graders in the PAC
               -rising 9th-12th ELL session in the Blackbox
Feb. 7:    Pick-A-Time open to schedule conferences (closes at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27)
Feb. 27:  CAP conferences for 9th-12th grades, FHS Commons from 4:30-8:00 p.m.

Current 7th Grade Parents: Tues., Jan. 29 your student brought home a Career Action Planning (CAP) information letter that explains the CAP process, the vital part parents/guardians play in the process, and how to schedule a CAP conference. 2019-20 Sports Tryout Info

Below is a link for the 2019 FPS sports tryout dates and requirements for next school year's 2019-20 teams. Please note that ALL students participating in a tryout will need a current physical.

We have also added the dates to the  Woodland website calendar.
It's time for our Valentine's Day Snack Shack at Woodland! We still need help with donations and volunteers! Use the sign-up link below.

Plan on dropping items off the day before the sale at the Woodland front office. If you plan to drop off the day of the sale, please deliver all items by 7:30 a.m. for setup. 

(Note: Due to changes in Fayetteville Public School District policy, we cannot have home-baked goods at the sale. All items must be commercially prepared and packaged with a nutrition label.)

New Free Tutoring Options

We have new tutoring options available. Students can participate in free tutoring sessions Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m., and transportation home is provided if needed.

We also offer tutoring sessions Mondays and Thursdays 7:30-8:15 a.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.
As always, drinks and snacks will be provided at every session.
