The annual Girls on the Town event will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in downtown Palatine! Get your group together now and save the date for this exciting night out that celebrates the members of the Downtown Palatine Business Association (DPBA)!  Members will open their doors on this Friday night, as participants experience wine tastings, enjoy hors d'oeuvres at select locations, and enter raffles to win prize baskets filled with gift certificates from DPBA members. Each participating business features special offers, giveaways and/or other goodies and sales to kick off spring - and to bring awareness to Palatine's historic downtown and the amazing businesses that make up the DPBA!

Palatine Historical Society Offers Scholarships to 
Local Palatine Township Students
The Palatine Historical Society will offer two (2) one-year $1,500 scholarships to local high school seniors who are residents of Palatine Township.  This scholarship was created in honor of the memory of Marilyn Pedersen, who was a volunteer and employee for more than 40 years at the Palatine Park District. Marilyn was instrumental in the success of the Palatine Historical Society's Clayson House Museum property while helping to preserve Palatine's history.  For more details about the scholarship  click here or call 847-991-6460.

American Legion Post 690 Monthly Bingo
Join American Legion Post 690 for bingo on the second Saturday of every month (next event is Saturday, March 9) when doors open at 6:00 p.m. The early bird game begins at 6:30 p.m., with the official game beginning at 7:00 p.m. Spots fill up quickly, so it is recommended that you get there early! Remember American Legion f or your events, meetings, weddings and parties - the newly renovated Banquet Hall is an affordable rental option with a full service bar and drink packages. 4:13 Fitness Anniversary Specials

Palatine Park District Sail Away Indoor Movie Night

Join the Palatine Park District for a great night at the movies for families! Those who  attend can supply a cardboard box and the Park District will supply a goody bag full of  materials to design a boat for this indoor sail away movie night. Don't be late - boat designing begins at 6:00 p.m. and the movie Hotel Transylvania 3 will start around 7:00  p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and space is limited. Pre- registration is required, so register early!

Parents should bring a blanket to sit on. Concessions will be available for purchase and will  include pizza, popcorn, candy, water, and pop. Outside food cannot be brought into this  event. Regardless of age, all participants, including adults and children under 1, must  be registered by February 27 at 7:00 p.m. The fee is $5 for children, $1 for adults, and  children under 1 are free.

Participate in the Cause & Effect Year-Round Food Drive! Giving thanks and in celebration
of their 35th year in business, Brandt Financial Concepts, Inc. is hosting this food drive to ensure they have an 'effect' on the greater Palatine community. The food drive is benefiting the Palatine Township Food Pantry.

A collection bin can be found in lobby via the Slade Street porch entrance. Donations of unexpired goods and non-perishable food items will be accepted throughout 2019! Young Entrepreneur's Academy
The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to be the only Chamber of Commerce in Illinois to offer the Young Entrepreneur's Academy (YEA). YEA is a program offered to middle school students that teaches them how to become entrepreneurs and start their own real businesses, complete with investor seed funding. This inspiring program, in partnership with School District 15, is helping to build the next generation of leaders in business through local business mentors, guest speakers and business field trips. Recently, students heard from a panel of local CEOs and business leaders about their experiences, successes and challenges.
