Help us improve oakville.ca!

The town has begun a multi-phased oakville.ca redesign project to improve the way visitors find information and access our online services.

A key piece of this phase in the project is connecting with people like you who use oakville.ca and capturing your ideas.

We'd really appreciate your feedback!

Your responses to our navigation activity will help us ensure that the content on our redesigned website will be easy to find and organized in a logical way.

It's fun and only takes a few minutes! Try the navigation activity before February 11.

Upcoming events and other information
Celebrate Black History Month

The town's Black History Month Kick-Off Celebration will be held at Oakville Town Hall on February 6 starting at 6 p.m. Please join us! You may also want to visit the Oakville Museum to discover artifacts, pictures and a documentary telling the stories of the many African-American families who settled in Oakville. Did you know that last November the town unveiled a plaque to honour Oakville's black community? You can find it on Burnet Street.

What are pedestrian crossovers?

We all know the crosswalks found at intersections with traffic lights or stop signs.
Pedestrian crossovers are different. They have their own set of rules that apply to pedestrians, drivers and cyclists. They're often found at a stretch of road where there is no intersection and are identified with lines on the road, a clear place showing where motorists should stop and roadside signs.  Visit our website and  watch our video so you and your family can learn the rules for safely using a pedestrian crossover.

Council business at Town Hall

The next Planning and Development Council meeting is set for Monday, February 10. Discussion i tems on the agenda include Notices of Intention to Designate several Cultural Heritage Landscape locations including St. Jude's Cemetery, Oakville Harbour and Bronte Harbour and Bluffs.  Join us at Town Hall or tune in to watch live coverage of the meeting on the town's YouTube channel.
