The mission of the Resource and Crisis Center is to promote the safety, well-being, and best interest of victims of family violence, sexual assault, and child abuse; while advocating for the prevention of such crimes.
5 Ways to Support RCC
There are several ways to support our mission and help us fund the programs that support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the Galveston County area. It is because of people like you, that we are able to continue to provide services to those in need.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
8th Annual Yoga on the Beach
On October 4, 2018, The Yoga Haven and the Resource and Crisis Center joined together to host the 8th Annual Yoga on the Beach at Stewart Beach Park. This free event kicks off Domestic Violence Awareness Month each year and was attended by nearly 100 participants.
3rd Annual
Walk A Mile In Her Shoes
RCC, Pleasure Pier, Texas A&M and Galveston College hosted the 3rd Annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes on October 26, 2018. Over 150 participants walked along Seawall Blvd in support of victims of domestic violence.

DVAM Proclamation
On October 25, 2018, The City of Galveston proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Thank you Mayor Yarbrough and Galveston City Council for your continued support of the work we do!

We want to give a special thank you to our donors and volunteers for their warm hearts. Each of these individuals has thought about our clients and their needs and have gone above and beyond. The support, empowerment, and generosity each of these wonderful people have shown is so humbling.

START MOU
On September 13, 2018 members of the Galveston County SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) joined together to renew their MOU (Memorandum of Understanding). This collaboration is a big part of providing necessary services to victims of sexual assault in our community. Thank you to all of our agency partners.
UTMB Student Group
Thank you to this awesome group from UTMB for facilitating a Halloween themed Movie Night in the RCC Shelter. Our clients really enjoyed this special event.
AMWA UTMB Chapter
Thank you  AMWA  for putting together a special Halloween Carnival for the children living in the RCC Shelter. We appreciate all you do for our clients!
UTMB Research Services Department
Thanks to UTMB Research Services Department for donating Halloween costumes, treats, clothing and coats to our shelter. We appreciate your warmth, kindness and support!
New Volunteers at RCC
We want to give a warm welcome to our newest RCC Volunteers. We are excited to have you on the team!
Project AMIGO
Vietnam Veterans of America, Project AMIGO collected donations to support RCC. Thank you for supporting our mission and thank you for your service!
Lobit Middle School & Dickinson Police Department
In November, we joined forces with Dickinson Police Department  to speak with 5th and 6th grade students at  Lobit Middle School about healthy relationships and cyber bullying. 
Lantern Light Tours of Galveston
On October 20th,  Lantern Light Tours of Galveston hosted a Vampire Pageant at  Sound Bar  as a fundraiser for RCC. Thank you Alicia and Gina for your continued support! 
Valero Energy Foundation
In November, we were awarded grant money from Valero Energy Foundation. Thank you Valero for your continued support of our mission. This grant will help us to continue to provide services to those victimized by domestic violence or sexual assault.
Delta Kappa Gamma
Big shout out to Delta Kappa Gamma for donating stockings to children living in the RCC shelter. This is a project done every year and the goodies inside are always amazing. Thank you so much for your continued support!
Julia Cox with Avon
Thank you Julia Cox for your donation of Avon products to women living in the RCC shelter. This will be a special gift to share with them for the holidays.
Students Together for Service
A big thank you to Students Together For Service for putting together a Christmas Movie Night for those living in the RCC Shelter. What a special evening!
Mt. Olive Baptist Church
Thank you Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Galveston for your continued support. Each year they collect toiletries and personal hygiene items for those receiving RCC services.
Jace
9 year old Jace collected 200 sweaters and jackets to distribute to those in need. He chose RCC as one of the agencies to support. Thank you Jace for your hard work and dedication! You are a shining star!

20 Years of Service
We recently celebrated 20 years of service with Galveston Resale Store Manager Vicki Petty. She is such an asset to our team and her passion, dedication and ambition is infectious to those around her. Thank you, Vicki, for your service!
Congratulations Nelva! After 20 years of service with RCC Resale in La Marque, Nelva retired in October. We have been blessed with her longevity, loyalty and dedication over the last 20 years. Thank you, Nelva, for your service!
Santa For Survivors
WE DID IT! With the help of many, many donors, over 130 families (400 people) were blessed this holiday season through our Santa For Survivors program.
