New Work

Brutal 24x30 $14,000
Brutal  24" x 30"  $14,000
In nature's most brutal moments I find great beauty. Where the violence of nature co-mingles with exquisite subtlety I find great excitement. I suppose I simply prefer my beauty with teeth in it.

Exhibition: Why Outdoors?:
The Plein Air Painters of America

New York City, Salmagundi Club: April 21 - May 9
Furrows & Fractions 24 x 30 $13,500
Furrows & Fractions  24" x 30"  $13,500
This exhibit will highlight paintings from a selection of the PAPA membership and will include these large field paintings. The Salmagundi Club is close to my heart; I was a scholarship member as a young fellow and am currently a member. The oldest continually running Art Cub in U.S. History, the club hosts a wonderful art collection, exhibit spaces, historic library, pub & bar.
I am thrilled to go back to the East coast and be part of this.

Chatham Creative Arts Center

September 23-26, 2014

Grey Morning Chatham 8 x 12 - $3,000
Grey Morning Chatham 8" x 12" - $3,000
This is my fourth time back teaching on the Cape. Late September is the ideal time to work: tourists are gone and it is easy to get around. It's not hard to see how Edward Hopper was attracted to The Cape's austere beauty.

Note to students: Teaching is tailored to your level so all levels are welcome. My only requirement is that you enter the class humble to nature and open to new information.
