Food for the soul!

A Hot meal is what brings people together. We strive to create memories and everlasting connections. The joy and satisfaction that we see in the eyes of our guests here at the MACC community kitchen are simply priceless. Seeing this inspires and drives me to provide delicious soul food, which helps brighten up those gloomy days.

When I ask an incoming Volunteer why they want to volunteer I hear many things, most often it is wanting to give back. Did you know that just by walking through our doors and giving MACC Charities a few hours of your time is giving back in a way that brings smiles to everyone's faces? Want to try?

Emergency Food Pantry Manager

Last week the Food Pantry received a visit from the sibling of a former guest, who sadly passed away. They wanted to thank MACC staff and volunteers for their efforts, which always kept the guest smiling. The family was grateful, but it's really MACC that is blessed with the opportunity to know each guest and paint light across the dark.

It's amazing what feeling clean can do to one's self-esteem.

The Community Outreach Department offers weekly hygiene services to the homeless and the at-risk population every Wednesday from 9am to 11am. This service includes a hot shower, toiletries, a towel and one load of laundry. We ask for 10 to 15 minutes of their time to discuss their current situation.
