President's Message
from Sandra R. Wolkoff, PhD., LCSW-R
I was thinking about how much I seem to be “taking” these last two months—nearby friends shop for me, neighbors walk with me, albeit masked and 6-8 feet away, my kids check up on me, my oldest friends call a lot, my siblings and I talk more, from short texts to long catching up calls and people I don’t know well have made masks for me. I don’t do as much for others as they do for me, which is not the way things usually go.

SIBLING AND PARENTS COLUMN

Attached is a photo of my only brother, Josh Weiner. His birthday is May 28th.
My parents (Michelle and Kevin Weiner) and I miss Josh more than words can describe each and every day. We lost him at 30 years old, and he had so much more to give to the world. Josh was incredibly bright, successful, loud, funny, and the life of every party. I would've given up anything to have my brother physically at my wedding this past September but I know he is with us in spirit.
We are determined to keep his legacy alive and have established the Joshua M. Weiner Foundation in his memory. The Joshua M. Weiner Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity committed to providing opportunities for children and young adults who otherwise lack an adequate support system. Our goal is to facilitate character, sportsmanship, and academic growth through participation in sports and mentoring programs.
Hope you stay healthy!
Best,
Rachel (Weiner) Stevens

COPE'S CAMP ERIN® NYC
Thoughts from Ann and Jamie
I am writing this note a little sooner than I thought, not with shock, just with huge sadness. COPE has decided not to run camp this summer. The decision about Camp Erin NYC was made with the same motivation that started the camp—taking care of children. The decision was always going to be based on the safety of our campers, volunteers and our ability to ensure a safe environment. There were too many unknowns and uncertainties. Our clientele is diverse, each with their own set of circumstances. We can’t take any chances. ALL LIVES ARE VALUABLE!!!!
