Dear Lovejoy Community, 

This past Saturday we had the honor of celebrating the Lovejoy High School Class of 2021! It was a great morning and a perfect opportunity recognize several accolades from the 2020-2021 school year. Some of this year's highlights include:

  • 375 graduates in the Class of 2021
  • Students will attend over 73 different universities, and institutions with several pursuing gap years
  • $24,676,834 total scholarship dollars accrued
  • Volleyball won the State Championship
  • Football made it to the Elite 8 in the State
  • Softball made it to the Elite 8 in the State
  • Baseball made it to the Sweet 16 in the State
  • Ninth grader, Kailey Littlefield, won State in Track
  • Jakob Underwood won State in Wrestling with four additional wrestlers placing at State
  • Cross Country finished 5th in State for Boys and 7th in State for Girls
  • Swim competed at State
  • Boys Basketball were District champs and Area finalists
  • UIL District Academic Meet Champions
  • Mark Wen (LHS Class of 2021 Valedictorian) is the State Computer Science Champion with the Computer Science Team as the State Champions
  • The One-Act Play made it to the third round of competition
  • LHS had the most All-State Band members in our region
  • LHS Visual Arts had Regional and National award winners
  • Band, Orchestra, and Choir all earned sweepstakes
  • LHS Bass Fishing Team took Third in State
  • Plus many more!

We are so proud of the Class of 2021 and all of our Lovejoy Leopards on an outstanding 2020-2021 school year!

Save the Date!
The Lovejoy ISD Board of Trustees invites you to attend the June 14, 2021 Board of Trustees meeting at 7:00 PM in the Lovejoy Elementary School gym. During the Board meeting the Trustees will consider the employment of Katie Kordel as the new Superintendent of Lovejoy ISD. Following the Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees will host a welcome reception for Ms. Kordel.

Recognitions
Lovejoy High School Band
The Lovejoy High School Jazz Ensemble Participated in the UTA Jazz festival on May 17th and was awarded outstanding band in class 5A. They will be a featured performer in the 2022 UTA Jazz Festival at the awards concert next year.

The Lovejoy High School Jazz Ensemble also participated in the National Jazz Festival. The group was placed first place overall in a special division while recording a newly written piece by composer and Los Angeles band leader, Gordon Goodwin and third place overall in the Large Ensemble division.

Congratulations to these extraordinary musicians on their accomplishments! We are #LovejoyProud!
