April 29, 2020

Dear Lakehill Families,

I want to start with a heartfelt thank you for your amazing partnership in our Distance Learning experience. Your dedication, flexibility, and continued support during this unprecedented time have been remarkable.

On April 17, Governor Greg Abbott announced that schools will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. While we are extremely disappointed that students and staff will not be able to return to our campus, we remain dedicated to the health and safety of our Lakehill community.

I am so proud of our outstanding students and their accomplishments via distance learning - it continues to inspire me on a daily basis. I am grateful for our families, teachers, staff, and Board of Directors who have all given extraordinary efforts to support continued learning throughout our school closure. We miss all of you, and wish we could finish the year together.

Our seniors have been faced with unprecedented challenges at the end of their journey with us, and we remain dedicated to providing the Class of 2020 with the ceremony they deserve. Although I am disappointed we will not be able to hold our Baccalaureate and Commencement Ceremonies on their original May dates, we are committed to holding these events this summer if allowed to do so. We also have a plan in place for virtual ceremonies, should in-person events not be possible.

We continue to reimagine and develop plans for other school-wide, year-end activities. Some events may be celebrated next school year, when we can be together. Others will be celebrated in a virtual space. I look forward to sharing more details with you within the next week. We are in daily discussions with national leaders and other area schools on whether we will be able to move forward with our 2020 Summer Camps Program and will communicate those plans next week.

During the weeks ahead, we will continue to work with local, state, and national leaders, as well as in coordination with our ISAS peer schools, to assess our operations and develop a plan for the fall semester and beyond. I remain hopeful that we can be together on campus, while in compliance with physical distance guidelines and other regulations. As we look ahead, there is much to prepare for, but I know we have the energy and the resolve to see this through. Our Warrior community is like no other, and I am confident that we will make it through these challenges together.

We will update you directly by email as new information becomes available. We will also post information on Lakehill's Coronavirus Webpage

Please continue to take precautions to keep you and your family healthy and safe. Thank you again for your understanding and support.

Sincerely,
Perry Signature
