We are all itching to be outside and bicycling is an activity the entire family can enjoy. The Lake Metroparks Greenway Corridor has several access point in Concord Township and is a great trail to experience on your bike.

Memorial Day
Please join us at 9:00 am on Monday, May 31, 2021 for a brief Memorial Day Service at Concord Cemetery, which is located on SR 608, just east of Fire Station #1. This is a time to honor and pay tribute to the Veterans buried in our cemeteries and remember loved ones that have gone before us.
Sentimental Items
Please understand that if you are placing sentimental items on the graves, they may get lost, stolen or damaged; if it’s something that’s near and dear to your heart, we do not recommend that it be placed in the cemetery.
The cemetery staff reserves the right to remove any live decorations and non-floral decorations not in keeping with the beautification of the cemetery.
Maintenance
Maintenance of the cemetery grounds has begun (turf building, seeding, etc.) and expansion work in the 1965 Section continues.
Prohibited Items
Glass of any kind (including gazing balls), styrofoam, birdhouses and feeders are prohibited.
For more specific details, the Rules and Regulations are available at the entrance of the cemetery, at the Township's website and in Town Hall. All persons are subject to the rules and regulations.

Crossroads Health is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit behavioral health provider serving Northeast Ohio with facilities located in Mentor, Painesville, and Willoughby, including a strategic affiliation with New Directions, an adolescent and young adult-based residential, recovery housing, and out-patient treatment facility for substance use and mental health disorders. Service areas include Psychiatry and Medication Management, Substance Use Disorders and Dual Diagnosis, School-Based and Consultation Training and Education (CTE), Early Childhood Services, Outpatient Services, Intensive Services, Specialized Services, and Criminal Justice Services.
Crossroads Health Crisis Services offers individual and group counseling including the Crisis Mobile Team for Lake County Residents who are experiencing a mental health crisis in the community and need face-to-face and/or telephone assistance. The Crisis Hotline provides 24 hours per day, 7 days per week crisis support services via telephone 440-953-TALK (8255).
Hotline activities include crisis management, suicide prevention, linkages to community resources, information and referral resources, and linkage to immediate psychiatric, medical, and if necessary, area emergency services. Hotline workers have direct access to our Crisis Intervention Service or can access police, fire, and ambulance services to assist the caller.

Concord Township Celebrates 200 Years in 2022! |

Concord Township’s Bicentennial year is 2022. Each month, we will feature several photos depicting Concord’s history. This month, we celebrate early images of our beloved Old Stone School. If you have pictures of life in Concord Township throughout the decades that you want to share, please send them to Recreation@concordtwp.com.

Concord’s third school called Stone School marked the beginning of the District System of one room schools located in the township. Each school would be within a two mile walk for pupils. Prior to an 1825 Ohio law accessing taxes, schools were by subscription. ‘Schoolhouse Number One’ on Ravenna Road was contracted from James McEuen for the price in 1840 of $200. |

On October 15, 1858, Samuel H. Judd leased a half acre for $50.00. Located on the corner of Girdled Road and Route 608 the property became Judd’s Corner School. This picture was taken in 1913. The scholars as the students were often called attended this district 6 schoolhouse until its closure in 1923.

The Concord Consolidated School was a mix of classrooms. The first through fourth grades were held in the older part of the school. A newer section was added for the fifth and sixth grades as well as a gym /lunchroom. The school closed its doors in 1982. Pictured is the fourth grade class of 1958.
