Community Brief from Endeavor Elementary
"We Rise by Lifting Others"
Thursday, October 1, 2020
|
Families, please mark your calendars for Endeavor's Virtual Open House that will be taking place from October 13, 2020 to October 16, 2020. I invite you to see first-hand the wonderful instruction occurring in our classrooms and the creative way our Launched teachers are delivering instruction in today's unique educational environment. Our Navigators and teachers will be so proud to showcase their hard work!
Researchers agree that parental involvement is a crucial component in academic success. Your support is invaluable and a predictor of student growth. I trust you will take the opportunity to speak to your child's teacher during our upcoming conferences regarding standards based instruction, learning scales, learning targets and grades that are aligned to standards. I invite you to visit cpalms.org for a complete list of grade level standards in reading, mathematics, science and social studies. Understanding student expectations and where children are preforming on learning scales helps teachers customize lessons to meet every child's academic needs.
Be well and thank you for your continued support!
Mr. Knappins

Teaming up with parents, Ms. Khazar surprised all her students with a visit to their homes. Not having met their teacher in person, Navigators had to take a second look before they could place her. Ms. Khazar has since decorated her door with the pictures she took of her students with the hopes they will be passing through the threshold before too long. Students will surely feel welcomed! |
It Separates High Expectations for Student Learning - Big Idea 9: Changes in Matter SC.5.P.8.2 Investigate and identify materials that will dissolve in water and those that will not and identify the conditions that will speed up or slow down the dissolving process.
Fifth grade Launched students in Ms. Ricke's/Ms. Weeks' class conducted experiments with paper chromatography, a method for separating parts of a mixture of either a gas or a liquid solution. In your opinion, do you think a hot summer day or a cold winter day would be more fun? Give an example of what you would do with our family and friends. Our littlest authors did a great job with terrific details within their pictures!
