WKU Cheer wins national championship
WKU Cheerleading brought home the first national championship in program history Wednesday night by claiming the title in the D1A All-Girl Division of the UCA Collegiate National Championship in Orlando, Fla.

WKU Cheer finished with an overall event score of 89.8, including a 92.8 raw score in the semifinal round with no deductions.

"A season of change, a season of challenges makes victory that much sweeter," WKU first-year head coach Alli Lumpkin said. "The WKU Cheerleaders bought in and trusted the leadership they were given. Champions make choices every day and those choices determine their success. The results of the 2021 UCA Collegiate National Championship reflect their commitment to our process. WKU Cheer's future on The Hill is bright!"

Division competition is based off a school's enrollment and size, with D1A being the biggest division. Rounding out the top five behind WKU were UAB, Texas State, South Florida and Ole Miss.
