From start to finish! Let us walk you through your first quilt from start to finish. We start with fabric selection, reading a pattern, using a rotary cutter and ruler and familiarizing yourself with your machine to get the perfect ¼ inch seam.
This course will extend over 6 sessions and teach you multiple components of a quilt and how to put them together. When the units are complete and your quilt top is assembled, we assist in the process of choosing the right size of backing and getting your quilt top quilted here at the store (optional). In the final session you will learn how to attach binding. When you are done, not only will you be able to claim this adorable quilt as all yours, but you will have the skills necessary to take on other quilts as well.

Most people look at Bargello quilts and are intimidated by all the tiny pieces. In this class, you’ll learn techniques that use the efficiency of strip-piecing to make truly mesmerizing modern designs. These designs wave, twist, and curve to create beautiful shapes with incredible movement. Students will learn about selecting fabric , constructing strip sets, building vertical columns, and attaching columns together into a quilt top. This size of quilt uses approx. 5 yards of fabric total.

Great for organizing everything you need for each of your projects. These handy zippered bags, in four sizes, have sturdy quilted bases and vinyl windows for visibility of contents. The pattern includes instructions for two styles of border on the bottom: a piece border or a single-fabric border. Sewing machine must be able to accommodate a zipper presser foot.

Quilts of Valor Block Sew Day

The 2020 QOV® block drive features a basic Nine Patch. Participants will use fabric donated by Hunters Quilt Mart and any other fabric that they want to bring of their own to make 9-patch blocks. These blocks will then be sent to the Quilts of Valor Foundation to be used in quilts to honor and comfort our military who have put their lives at risk for our freedom.

Piecing and Quilting Class Level Descriptions
Please note: students are usually very humble in their skill
assessment-so all of our levels are some form of a beginner.
True Beginner Class
These classes are for first or near first time quilters. The instructors will be covering cutting, accurate seam allowance, basic sewing machine skills as the project is worked on.
Confident Beginner
These classes are designed to further develop your quilting skills. The projects are picked with the skills to be learned in mind. We try and rotate the skills taught. For example, half-square triangle, flying geese, strip-piecing. These classes are great follow-up classes from the True Beginner classes.
Advanced Beginner
An advanced beginner class is for those students who are comfortable with rotary cutting, pre-class prep work, and with their machine. Usually there is prep work involved to be done outside of the class. These classes usually involve a project to be completed at home after skills are taught.
Intermediate
These classes are designed to teach concepts such as curved piecing or specialty rulers. It is assumed that the student is stitching accurate seams and is ready to advance their skills to the next level. There is usually homework or prep work involved.
Advanced
These classes are designed for advanced quilters. There is usually prep work, and homework involved to finish the project. Skills taught are going to be more intricate and complex. Accurate seam allowance and cutting skills are a must. It’s possible that a pre-requisite skill may be required (will be listed as needed). An example would be a double wedding ring, miniatures or “show” ready quilts.
