The Iowa Tourism Office has collected information on the economic impact of travel on counties throughout Iowa. Their interactive map illustrates the impact of tourism on jobs, payroll and tax revenue based off of figures generated by the U.S. Travel Association's Travel Economic Impact Model.

This week, Corridor President and CEO Kiley Miller joined representatives from Buena Vista University to receive a Google Impact Challenge Grant in the amount of $175,000. The partnership between the Corridor and BVU was one of five recipients of the grant.

Young Professionals collaborate for 'Northwest Iowa Emerging Leaders Summit'

The Lakes Area Young Professionals and Spencer USA Young Professionals are partnering to bring an Emerging Leaders Summit to the region. The event will be held October 4th at the Clay County Regional Events Center. Attendees will have an opportunity to network with other professionals in the region, develop leadership skills, and even help foster growth of additional YP groups in the region.

Spencer ranked No. 1 safest city in Iowa

A study published by backgroundchecks.org has ranked Spencer as the safest city in Iowa. The safety index score is based on crime rates and law enforcement officers employed as metrics from the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Program and the Census.

Lamberti announced as donor for new BVU Center for Rural Entrepreneurship

Founder and CEO of Casey's General Stores, Inc. Don Lamberti has provided a $2.9 million gift to Buena Vista University to establish the Donald F. and Charlene K. Lamberti Center for Rural Entrepreneurship. Last night, Governor Kim Reynolds joined BVU President Joshua Merchant for the announcement of the gift.
