Today is the first newsletter of the 2019-20 school year and contains important information that many of you are requesting as you prepare for the new school year. This information will be repeated next week along with additional information as the first day of school approaches. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
2019-20 ANNUAL SCHOOL CALENDAR - HERE

August Office Hours (office is currently closed)
Wednesday, August 7th - Tuesday, August 20th
9am - 1pm daily 
School starts: Wednesday, August 21st  - Minimum day: 8:10am - 12:30pm
St. Rose Parent / Student Handbook has been updated as of 8/1/18

ALL parents (families) are expected to review the handbook in it's entirety so that you are current and knowledgeable on school procedures and policy. There are some changes and updates and we have highlighted the areas of revision and those that require all parent's attention.  Please review the entire document.

NEW families to St. Rose will receive a hard copy of the handbook in the first Wednesday envelope of the school year. This is the one and only time that we send home a paper copy of the handbook to families.  The handbook will always be available to review by clicking on the link at the bottom of this weekly newsletter OR  on our school website: www.strosecatholicschool.org   

School administration may change, update or revise school policy at anytime. Parents will be notified of any changes when or as they occur.
SCHOOL UNIFORMS
Those who placed uniform orders online by June 30th may PICK UP orders from the Sonoma Design Showroom beginning Monday, August 5th .  
Sonoma Design:  3510 Airway Dr, Santa Rosa (near 24hr Fitness across the freeway) 

Online Uniform store is now OPEN for ordering - August 1st - 30th for late September delivery.

To try on sample sizes before ordering, set up an appointment with school office after Aug. 7th. Remember, there are NO RETURNS/EXCHANGES if YOU order the wrong size.

CLASS STUDENT SUPPLY LISTS - for those who did NOT purchase your back to school kits from 1st Day School Supply by June 30th, click on your class list below.
It is now too late to order from 1st Day.
Please ONLY purchase the supplies the teachers have listed.

EPICUREAN HOT LUNCH PROGRAM  - 1st - 8th grades
Menu is now posted on line for Aug - Sept ordering.  
First day of Hot Lunch is:  Thursday, Aug 22nd - PLACE ORDERS NOW FOR AUG / SEPT. Order must be placed by Wed. Aug. 14th.

ORDERS MUST BE PLACED IN ADVANCE.  
  • If ordering WEEKLY - your order must be placed no later than WEDNESDAY the week before.
  • If ordering MONTHLY - your order for the next month must be placed by the LAST WEDNESDAY of each month.
St. Rose office will no longer ADD ON students who do not order in time. If you miss the order deadline, please send your child to school with a lunch.

SPECIAL EVENTS - Mark your calendar!
St. Rose Parish Festival
September 15th, 2019

All school families should plan on attending this annual Parish event. St. Rose School is a beneficiary of this event. Parents who volunteer time at the festival may claim these hours towards your school service hour requirement.

Parish Festival committee is seeking volunteers for this huge community event.

ST. ROSE SCHOOL WALK-A-THON
Friday, October 4th


All students participate in this annual fundraiser for our school. Information will be sent home to all in September.      HELP will be NEEDED! Check back here later for more details.

ALL NEW VOLUNTEERS MUST BE COMPLIANT WITH DIOCESE REQUIREMENTS to Volunteer for any school activity.
Now is the perfect time to GET COMPLIANT! If you plan on volunteering for anything during this school year, PLEASE get compliant BEFORE SEPT. 1st.
  • NEW parents, ALL room parents, coaches, walk-a-thon volunteers, hot lunch or yard duty help, classroom activities, field trip chaperones or drivers, etc. 
If you wish to volunteer for any on campus activity, you must get compliant with Diocese Volunteer requirements as soon as possible. At St. Rose we do our best to provide a safe campus for all. The Santa Rosa Diocese requires that all who wish to volunteer for any school event comply with completing a background check, registering on the Diocese website, and completing the required on-line courses. 
  • This process can take several weeks to complete. 
  • Don't wait until the week of an event to get started - you won't be cleared in time.

School day begins at 8:10 AM
Kindergarten dismissal: 2:30 PM 
1st - 8th dismissal: 2:50 PM - Dismissal supervision ends at 3:20pm
Minimum School Days: 12:30 Dismissal ALL - supervision ends at 12:50pm
School Office Hours:  7:30 AM - 3:30 PM (1 PM on minimum days)

Please be on time picking up your students.
