Summer 2019
What A Success! Thank You!
Champagne Luncheon & Fashion Show

Our 7th Annual Champagne Luncheon & Fashion Show - There She Goes - at the Four Seasons was an overwhelmingly fun time and a huge success. We marked our 10th year of providing work appropriate attire and job readiness services to the women of the Las Vegas Valley by showcasing where we have been and where we are going!

A huge thank you goes out to our attendees, volunteers, and sponsors who made the event so remarkable! Our aspiration for this event is to maintain our traditions all the while keeping it fresh, exciting, and engaging, and Rachel Clarke Events did not disappoint! Our premier sponsor, WalMart Neighborhood Stores, returned for a third year in their lead role. You can't have a champagne luncheon without a never ending supply of sparkling wine, generously donated by Breakthru Beverage. World renowned designer and environmentalist, Anne Fontaine, showed her fresh, fierce looks along with donating her gorgeous handbags to fill our Dream Closet provided by Inspired Closets. Handcrafted Affairs by Beth Newitt enhanced the Dream Closet with unique custom DSFFNV branded hangers and MJ Christensen donated a stunning diamond necklace as the crowning item of the annual raffle.

Hosts Monica Jackson and Chet Buchanan kept the event moving with their high energy and enthusiasm for fundraising, all while connecting the spirit of the event to our mission of assisting women in achieving economic self-sufficiency. R&R Partners produced an inspirational video that undoubtedly impacted each and every viewer in the room and brought home the transformative power of clothes and our services.

Each year this event grows in popularity and we hosted a sold-out crowd of over 450 guests....including some of Las Vegas' own WNBA Aces! It was a treat to have A'ja Wilson, Kayla McBride, and Carolyn Swords join us and introduce them to DFSSNV. Our Rosé Haze after party on the Press Patio included visits from Local Fire Department members, free-flowing themed cocktails sponsored by Tito's, and live music stylings of Joey Vitale. This was undoubtedly our best event to date! Looking forward to seeing you all there next year.

Referral Agency Open House

Our biannual Referral Agency Open House was successful! We had over 100 guests tour the boutique on Thursday, July 18. Thank you to all who attended!

Q&A

Favorite Part About Volunteering for Dress for Success:
I love supporting an organization that helps and empowers women!  The team at DFS is comprised of such an amazing group of women who really make me want to strive for more in my professional and personal life.  I look up to each and every one of them.

Most Memorable Experience: I really enjoyed the behind the scenes of the annual event Shop for Success at Spring Valley High School. To see how quickly volunteers and staff pull together such a wonderful experience was exhilarating!

Background: My background is in tradeshows and special events with extensive experience in retail graphics and displays.

Favorite Hobbies: Boating, skiing, traveling, and spending time with my furry family of three dogs and a cat.

Interesting Facts: I was born in England and grew up in Massachusetts. I am learning to speak Spanish and I play the flute and guitar.  I have my own 36' yacht at Lake Mead and taught myself to captain and dock it!
