A BIG CHEER to our son Daniel who is celebrating his 21st birthday tomorrow! Daniel joined my Team this season as a Customer Service Liaison and Social Media Marketing Specialist. Later this month he returns to the University of Tampa to begin his junior year. Daniel intends to obtain a marketing degree and then join me in the real estate business!
Scallop Harvest at Near Record Level!
  
 
Sea scallops, which are harvested by boats working in the cold Atlantic ocean, are the target of one of the most valuable fisheries in America. Data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) shows that the 2018 harvest topped 58.2 million pounds - that's the highest total since 2011 and the 5th highest in history, according to statistics going back to 1945! Whenever we go offshore fishing, it's common to see a dozen (+/-) large steel-hull scallop boats from Ports ranging from Virginia to Atlantic City, feverishly working to dredge - up scallops anywhere from about 30-55 miles off of the beach. The port of Cape May, NJ is continually one of the highest producing scallop ports on the East coast!
Arts and Craft Fesitval in Stone Harbor
  
 
Stone Harbor Arts & Crafts Festival is celebrating it's 57th year! The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th and will be held at the fields at 80th Street and Dune Drive; starting at 9am on each day. 
This show attracts thousands to Avalon & Stone Harbor each year. The Festival consists of 200 artisans from more than 12 different states. 
Home and Health Show in Avalon
  
 
Cape Regional's 7 Mile Island Home and Health Show is back in Avalon on Saturday, August 10th from 9am until 1pm. The event will be held at Avalon Elementary School; and it's here you will spend the day meeting with physicians and specialists for one - on - one health screenings and discussions. Once you have seen the doctor; head over to the home show and talk to the island's home contractors, designers and architects. 
If you'd like a chance to visit some of the Island's most unique homes; on August 10th from 11am until 4pm Cape Regional hosts their 7 Mile Island Designer House Tour. This is your chance to explore unique homes with modern designs and shore classic decor. Tickets are needed for the tour; and you can buy them at the Avalon Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center or by calling the Cape Regional Foundation.

Avalon Hosts 'Thursdays on Dune'
  
 
Every Thursday through August 29th; Avalon will host Thursdays on Dune! Each Thursday, the Borough will host kids activities from 5:30-7pm and live music from 7-8:30pm at Veterans Plaza located at 21st Street and Dune Drive.
