HMIS Data Quality Plan
June 23, 2021
We need your feedback!
What's a Data Quality Plan anyways?
HUD requires that each HMIS implementation has a plan with community standards for data collection and entry. The HMIS Lead Agency, NCCEH in our system, is responsible for developing and implementing this plan. Data Quality can be measured in completeness (not missing), timeliness (quick entry), and accuracy (true to program records). Since our implementation began back in 2019, our plan has revolved around Federal Reporting seasons mostly. The Data Center has now drafted a Data Quality Plan that will include regular year-round review and support of core data elements.

Our new Data Quality Plan has two main components:
  1. Data Benchmarks designated by Project Type
  2. Regular reports highlighting sections that don't meet benchmarks sent by the Data Center
Data Quality Plan Benchmarks
The Data Center has reviewed our current data quality, compared that with HUD's standards, and drafted benchmarks for our HMIS system. We want to know whether you think these are the right fit for the project types you enter data for!

To see and comment on the draft benchmarks, submit the survey below by July 7th!
Have more questions?
Please reach out to the Data Center Helpdesk along the way if you have questions about the process or benchmarks themselves. We hope to incorporate HMIS User feedback and get the first reports out to agencies by August. A little extra love for your data this summer can reap big rewards as we report to HUD this fall!

We look forward to reviewing your keen insights to make this plan even better!
