This one-day Introduction class is designed for young practitioners or LLM degree students wishing to learn the fundamentals of international commercial arbitration. The course introduces concepts and principles of international commercial arbitration practice and is sufficient to qualify for the level of Associate of the CIArb, which entitles individuals to use the ACIArb credential after their names.
The program provides unrivaled training in international arbitration, both for those who wish to assist counsel representing clients in international arbitration proceedings and for those who aspire to eventual appointments as arbitrators. Topics to be covered include:
• Comparison of dispute resolution alternatives
• Why arbitration
• The law of international arbitration: legal systems and rules
• The Seat, and why it’s important
• The arbitration agreement and importance of its scope
• How a tribunal is empaneled (including challenges and replacements)

Fees
The Accelerated Route to Fellowship (International Arbitration) Assessment registration fees are as follows:
$150.00– General attendees
$100.00 – Current LLM students
Fee includes all workshop materials, coffee, refreshments, continental breakfast, lunch on April 28, 2019. For applicants requiring a Visa Letter there is an additional cost of $75 (to defray expenses).
Cancellation: A cancellation fee of $50 will be charged if cancellation is prior to April 1, 2019. No tuition refunds will be made if cancellation is after April 1, 2019
Timing and Scheduling
The program will commence at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning, April 28, 2019 and will conclude at 5:00 PM that same day. Additionally, all participants will be required to submit written answers to ques-tions within a stated period of time following the program.
