Let's show our mighty Willamette some LOVE this Valentines Day and give the gift of Clean River!
WHAT: River Guardians Trashy Thursday - Corvallis
WHEN: Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 8:30am - 1:30pm
DETAILS: Join Willamette Riverkeeper, along with our partners at Corvallis Parks & Recreation, Marys River Watershed Council, Oregon State Park, and American Canoe Association - come volunteer with the Corvallis River Guardians as we float the Willamette River from Crystal Lake Boat Ramp to Michael's Landing to pick up trash and debris from the urban riverbanks. This month we're set on picking up trash between the bridges, starting at the Mary's River Confluence. Limited seating in rafts, or Bring Your Own Boat (BYOB).
IF YOU ARE BYOB; PLEASE ARRIVE AT CRYSTAL LAKE BOAT RAMP NO LATER THAN 8:15am to unload your boat/gear. We will shuttle to Michael's Landing at 8:45am sharp.
IF YOU HAVE RESERVED A SEAT IN A BOAT; MEET AT MICHAEL'S LANDING AT 9:00am to join a shuttle carpool to the launch at Willamette Boat Ramp so your car is available at the take out.
Please dress for the weather - bring snacks, sunscreen, and weather-appropriate layers, including a hat, neck gaitor and/or gloves for colder temperatures. This is a rain or shine event! We will have extra dry bags available to carry your items safely. Wear closed-toe hard soled shoes and bring water to stay hydrated. PFDs provided in registration for those without - please note PFDs are required for all participants. Trash bags, pickers, gloves, tarps and tools for trash removal will also be supplied.
BYOB'rs should be comfortable paddling in current. Please use PFDs appropriate for use on the river - no inflatable PFDs.
