It's time to register for new sessions of your favorite classes: 

S.K.W.O.D. Fit Camp: Tuesday and Thursday evenings evenings, each week, beginning August 6. For adults & accompanied kids, ages 10+.
6-week session. 

Tai Chi :  Classes for beginner or intermediate students, on Thursday or Saturday mornings, beginning August 29 and 31. 8-week sessions.

We partner with the Cornelius Police Department for this annual celebration promoting community safety and crime prevention. Our free, family event includes children's activities, food and more!

Boys and girls, ages 7-14, are invited to register for this friendly competition. $5 for Cornelius residents, $10 for non-residents.

Back 2 School Bash
Back 2 School Bash & Movie Night  
Saturday, August 24, 6:30-8:00 pm

Celebrate the end of summer with us at this free, family event. Enjoy corn hole, face painting, appearances by Cornelius Police & Fire, and more, then top off the evening with an outdoor movie  on our blimp screen (see more below). Children are encouraged to wear their best Spider Man or super hero costumes! Concessions will be available for purchase.

Join us for free, family-friendly movies! 
Movies begin at dusk. (approximately 8:00-8:30 pm, weather permitting. Don't forget a chair or blanket!)

REGISTER NOW FOR FALL SPORTS

Flag Football 2017 2011 flag football Registration for the 2019 season of  NFL Youth Flag Football  is open now through August 12. This program provides a non-contact football opportunity for boys and girls ages 4-15. Skills assessments will be held August 13 and 15.  Games will be played in September and October at Smithville Park or James Hoyt Wilhelm Park, beginning September 7. 

Adult Men's Softball registration is open through August 16. There is limited space, so don't delay. The first games will begin soon!

Registration is open now through August 10 for the fall season of youth baseball and softball with Lake Norman Little League . For boys and girls, ages 4-16.

Registration is open through August 18 for the fall season of youth soccer with the Charlotte Independence Soccer Club (formerly Carolina Rapids) . For boys and girls, ages 4-18.

Registration is open through September 6 (or until full) for the fall season of lacrosse with Xtreme Lacrosse . For boys and girls, in Kindergarten through high school.

Register for youth and adult tennis lessons and clinics with Lake Norman Tennis Academy .

Sprouts Join us for the closing reception for Home Grown: Sprouts on Thursday, August 22, 5:00-7:00 pm, and meet the "sprouts" (ages 4-16), enjoy crafts and refreshments. This mixed-media exhibition features works created during our Summer Arts & Recreation Camps and will be on display through August 24 in our gallery.  

Registration opens on Monday, August 12, at 7:00 am for  fall classes for adults and youth  beginning the week of September 9.

Beyond Walls
, our annual award-winning public art exhibition, is on display at Robbins Park through January. Congratulations to the People's Choice Award winner, Three Sisters by Robert Porreca!

Call for Artists - Ceramics Call for ceramic artists: be a part of the 2nd edition of Mud at the Mill. Submission deadline for this juried ceramics exhibition is Thursday, September 5 at 5:00 pm. Selected works will be on display September 20 - November 2.

Cardio Funk: Mondays, 6:30-7:30 pm, and Saturdays, 9:00-10:00 am, at Bailey Road Recreation Center. $5 per class, pay at the door.

Lake Norman Bridge Center: Open, stratified games on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays at Town Hall. Get more information here.

Adult Open Gym Basketball: Tuesdays, 6:30-9:00 pm, at Bailey Road Recreation Center. For ages 18 and up.

Senior Pickleball: Thursdays, 6:00-8:00 pm, at JV Washam Recreation Center. For ages 50+

Drop-In Art: Mark your calendars for this awesome art experience returning to the Cornelius Arts Center beginning the week of September 9. For preschoolers and homeschoolers ages 3 and up. Children 5 and older may be dropped off, while those 4 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Register and pay at the door, $5 per hour.

CORNELIUS YOUTH ORCHESTRAS
Cornelius Youth Orchestras  is accepting new members for the 2019-2020 season. Youth with at least one year of playing experience are invited, along with their parents, to attend an Open House on Tuesday,  August 6  or 13, 6:30-7:30 pm, in the Bailey Middle School Orchestra Room.  New member rehearsal and orientation will be held on August 20 and the first full rehearsal will be held on August 27. Join us!
