Two New Disciple Studies Coming this Fall!

Great news! Two exciting opportunities for Bible Study are beginning this September and there will be more on the way as the year moves forward!

Disciple IV:Under the Tree of Life
Anne Boyd | Sundays 6:15-8pm
This Bible Study invites the participant to explore both the Old and New Testament. Participants will study the great stories in books like Esther, Job, Daniel, the Gospel of John and Revelation. This class will look to these amazing scriptures to better understand the promise of finding shelter, security, and rest in God's love.
Participants in this class are asked to have completed Disciple I.

Christian Believer
Rev. Max Vincent | Sundays 6:15-8pm
Christian Believer is a study of the classical doctrines of the Christian faith which includes God's providence, atonement, judgment and eternal life. This class blends together the reading of Scripture with reading classic Christian writings. Participants in this class are asked to have completed Disciple 1.

Each of these courses will begin on September 8 and end in early May with a long break in the middle for the Christmas season. There is a small fee associated with each class for materials but scholarships are available if needed. Childcare is available for both studies upon request.

If you are interested in taking either of these courses, or if you would like more information, please contact Rev. Elizabeth Lobello Edwards at [email protected] There is a minimum of 10 participants per study and registration will close on August 23, so be sure to sign up soon!

In addition to these studies, be on the lookout for a short-term introduction to the Bible on Wednesday evenings in the fall and a Disciple 1 course in January. More Information to come!

Elizabeth Lobello Edwards at  [email protected].
Belief in Action

This year the backpack and school supply drive was again a success due to the generous contributions of our St James community. We packed 85 backpacks for Sandy Springs Mission and provided for numerous classrooms to start the year with much needed supplies.

Children's Ministry

Nursery Caregiver Needed
St. James is hiring paid childcare providers to join our nursery team on Wednesday nights (5:30-7:30 p.m.), Sunday mornings (8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.), and Sunday evenings (4:30-6:30 p.m.). Additional shifts may also arise. If interested, email Nursery Coordinator, Susannah Withers, at  [email protected] , and include a cover letter, resume, and three references.

Combined Sunday School for Children and Youth

This will be a time for children to experience their worship space with freedom and a little guidance from parent volunteers.  Parent volunteers are needed to lead Sunday School and Children's Worship over the summer.
