With summer comes camps, vacations, and lazy days! You've no doubt done these things and more, but before summer comes to a close, remember that summer brings some great opportunities to work on speech and language skills. 

In this month's featured blog post we share some simple, fun (and maybe slightly messy) ideas to make speech and language exciting for kids.
It's Time to Confirm for Fall!

As we're sure you do, we experience a different kind of rhythm during the summer months. Life is more laid back, more fluid, more flexible. We're sad to see it end, like so many of our families. Now that school is starting back, it's time to look ahead toward the fall. Please consider your needs and confirm your sessions for the new school year.

Get to Know You: Myrlaine Darius

In Get to Know You, we ask our staff a few questions to give our families a peek into who they are as people, not simply providers. This month's Get to Know You features Office Manager Myrlaine Darius

Who is your hero?  My father is my hero. He came to America as an immigrant with nothing, worked very hard, and made a comfortable life for his family. He has sacrificed so much for the benefit for his family and never has stopped doing so.

What is your favorite thing about your career?  Being an advocate for the children and parents we serve. Whenever I can solve a problem or get the best answer makes my day satisfying.

What is your proudest accomplishment?  Moving my entire life to a new state and getting right into the groove of things and taking the next step in my career .

Have you ever had a nickname? What is it?  In high school because my name was hard to pronounce my nickname everyone gave me was Mermaid. Besides that I go by Mimi .

Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?  I would love either the singer Lizzo as my adult self and Marsai Martin as my younger self

What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?  Picture of my family, my kindle, MAKEUP!

If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be?  Polar Bear, beautiful to look at but also not to be messed with if provoked.
