PBIS Maryland Calendar of Team Training and Recognized Trainer Events
PBIS Maryland is pleased to provide a series of virtual professional learning opportunities during the 2020-2021 school year.
VIRTUAL
TEAM TRAINING EVENTS
Virtual team training events are intended for school-based teams interested in adopting or modifying Tier 1, Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 data, systems and practices.
This 4-session virtual training will take teams through the process of establishing (or modifying) systems, data, and practices at the Tier 1 level. Teams will have time throughout the event to plan the core features of Tier 1 PBIS (e.g., defining, teaching and acknowledging behavioral expectations; data-based problem solving; involving families, students, and faculty; and monitoring fidelity and annual evaluation to inform action planning). Special focus will be given to building how features and practices should be developed to promote culturally responsive environments and equity, alignment (e.g., restorative approaches, SEL), and the application of PBIS in virtual and non-virtual learning environments. Throughout the sessions, teams will be organized into breakout rooms to engage in a variety of activities

Who should attend: School Climate or PBIS/MTSS teams
Prerequisites:
  • Review the Tier 1 Standards & Protocols and Tier 1 Readiness Guidelines
  • A minimum of 4 team members must attend each training session. One team member must be an administrator.
  • Team membership should include: school administrator, Tier I coordinator, individuals with applied behavioral expertise, coaching expertise, knowledge of student academic and behavior patters, knowledge of school operations across grade levels

Training Dates:

October 14th, 28th & November 4th, 11th
12:00pm - 3:00pm

Teams must attend all four sessions
The Tier 2 virtual training will take teams through the process of establishing the systems, data, and practices at the Tier 2 level. Content is aligned with the Tier 2 Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) and will cover what is needed for: effective T2 teaming, critical features of T2 interventions, and evaluation procedures to support fidelity and action planning. The Check-in/Check-out intervention (Crone, Horner, & Hawken, 2010) will be the specific intervention trained, as this evidence-based intervention is an efficient and effective T2 intervention that aligns with the essential features of a T2 system. Throughout the sessions, teams will be organized into breakout rooms to engage in a variety of activities to develop Tier 2 procedures and the Check-in/Check-out intervention.

Who should attend: School Climate or PBIS/MTSS teams
Prerequisites:
  • Review the Tier 2 Standards & Protocols and Tier 2 Readiness Guidelines
