State of Arkansas
Gov. Asa Hutchinson said Arkansas has seen a spike in community cases of COVID-19. Since yesterday, 100 more people outside of prisons in Arkansas have been shown to have COVID-19. Twenty-seven of these cases are in St. Francis County, home of Forrest City where there is a prison unit that has seen an outbreak. Even more worrisome is that a graduation party is planned for the city, which the state's secretary of health recommended against.

The governor also said that Arkansas has also received a quantity of remdesivir, a drug to combat COVID-19. So far, the anti-inflammatory drug shows potential to lower recovery time from 15 days to 11 days on average.

In Arkansas, 3,320 people have recovered and 849 cases are active. Of the active cases, 59 people are hospitalized and 12 are on ventilators. There have been 95 deaths in Arkansas.

There are 50 nursing homes in Arkansas with active cases. Of those cases, 299 cases are in residents and 174 are in the staff.

You can watch the governor's daily update on his YouTube page here.

A statewide map is available that shows national, state and county numbers in regards to COVID-19. As of May 12 at 2:30 p.m., the United States deaths attributed to COVID-19 are 81,650.
