State of Arkansas
Gov. Asa Hutchinson gave today's COVID-19 briefing from El Dorado . Part of the reason for his visit to El Dorado was to talk about Arkansas' economic recovery from the virus. He said El Dorado, like the rest of Arkansas, had a diverse economy, which he believed put the state ahead of other states as far as rebounding.

Hutchinson said he was disappointed in reports that social distancing and other COVID-19 guidelines were being ignored throughout the state by many businesses. He said he does not regret the decision to begin lifting restrictions and encouraged businesses to protect patrons.

Hutchinson said that Arkansas is at 4,433 cases. In Arkansas, 3,149 people have recovered and 803 cases are active. Of the active cases detected, 275 are in prisons, 86 are in nursing homes and 489 are in the general community. Of the active cases, 61 people are hospitalized and 11 are on ventilators. There have been 94 deaths in Arkansas.

There are 49 nursing homes in Arkansas with active cases. Of those cases, 289 cases are in residents and 172 are in the staff.
