A Year of Listening
Sunday, March 3 & 10
9:45 a.m. in
Stewart Hall 102-103
If you've ever had a difficult conversation about politics, religion or any other topic your mother warned you never to discuss at cocktail parties then you know we are living in a polarizing time. Colleen Powell set out to see if she could reclaim the lost art of civil discourse by starting a podcast called
A Year of Listening
that tried to tackle all the hot button issues with compassion and nuance. In this two-week class you'll learn why it's important for us to have these challenging conversations with people with whom we disagree and what Colleen has learned about how to do it better
in
her year of listening.

Cross-Stitch Samplers by Betty Joseph
February 1 - March 28 on the Link
Artist Reception: This Sunday, February 24
Drawing, painting and crafting have been favorite activities since Betty's childhood. Her first cross-stitch sampler, "Give Me Time," was sewn when she was 16. The colors, symmetry and old-fashioned look of this type of needlework really appeal to her, and it remains a fun and rewarding creative outlet!
