As you know, the start of 2020 has been filled with many challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced a global slow-down. Business has nearly halted and we all have been staying home and practicing social distancing. However, during this time apart we must remember that we are all in this together.
Our shelter has felt the effects of COVID-19. We are meeting these challenges and adapting our policies to ensure that we can service animals in-need and care for those within our shelter.
On

,
we closed our shelter to the public for adoptions and non-emergent surrenders. This decision was made in order to keep our staff healthy and able to care for the animals in our facility. On
April 29, 2020
we had to make the necessary decision to cancel our
Bark in the Park Festival.
As our signature event, Bark in the Park Festival is our primary fundraiser and a community favourite. While we are unable to host Bark in the Park Festival this year, we will be bringing it back in 2021.
Part of COVID-19 protocol means that non-emergency vet services have been suspended. As the weeks continue forward the queue of animals waiting for spay/neutering or minor medical procedures grows.
Over 47%
of HSLM's operating budget is spent on vet services for our animals. Once we are able to preform surgeries, many animals will be ready for adoption. However, this will also mean a surge in expenses. This

we are asking our supporters to please consider donating to HSLM to help us, help those voiceless animals receive the necessary vet services and find their new home.

or donating to Humane Society London & Middlesex. Become part of the lifeline today to give hope to animals in our community.
While we remain apart, we are all working towards coming back together and our unity will keep us strong through these continued challenges. As always, your support is essential and very much appreciated.
