Happy Summer, Tigers! We are nearing the end of the summer season and looking forward to the new academic year. Welcome, Class of 2020!

We are both excited and nervous about the upcoming year. The Eisenhower School building is scheduled to undergo a major HVAC overhaul and possible continued renovation. This will necessitate the relocation of the Association office and IMart. As you know, we rely on IMart proceeds and membership dues to keep us going and growing. Relocating may present a challenge to our sales and membership efforts. We are brainstorming innovative solutions to keep us afloat during this uncertain time.

The ICAF-ES Alumni Association is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization and is now a new member of the Amazon Smile program. So, next time you are shopping at Amazon.com, be sure to use our personalized link. Amazon will donate up to 0.5% of eligible purchases made through the link.

Simply follow the link and Amazon will prompt you to accept the Association as your charity of choice when shopping. We appreciate your support!

In April 2019, Eisenhower hosted an IBM Executive Panel as part of the Commandant’s Lecture Series. IBM’s participating Executives were Lisa Mascolo, Susan Wedge, and Joe Cubba. Lisa Mascolo is Managing Director of IBM U.S. Public Service. In this role, she leads 4,000 IBMers and oversees a $1.8B portfolio in support of clients across federal, state, and local governments as well as educational institutions. Susan Wedge is a 17 year IBMer and IBM’s Public Service Vice President of Digital Strategy, Interactive Experience, and Cognitive Process Transformation. In this role, she oversees Government project delivery across 11 technical practice areas to include advanced analytics, IoT, and Blockchain. Joe Cubba is a 27 year IBMer and IBM’s Public Service Vice President of Defense and Intel. In this role, he is responsible for the delivery of service, client satisfaction and growth across IBM’s DoD and intel projects. Additionally, Joe currently serves as an officer in the US Navy Reserves.

During IBM’s Executive Panel, Lisa, Susan, and Joe discussed three key themes: technology and innovation, public and private sector partnership, and leadership and inclusion. They presented several concepts aligned with each theme to include ethical artificial intelligence, digital reinvention, opportunities for effective private and public sector partnership, acquisition challenges, and cultivating a culture of inclusion. After their presentation, the Executives answered a host of questions from students spanning topics from millennial management, global IP challenges, and change management.
