Order Shalach Manot for Purim Now!
T
wo of the mitzvot that are associated with Purim are the sending of gifts of food and the giving of tzedakah. In the Book of Esther, Mordechai wrote to the Jews "to observe the days as days of feasting and joy and giving presents of food to one another and gifts to the poor"! At TBC, we combine these 2 mitzvot into our Shalach Manot fundraiser, a fun way to support TBC by sending gifts to friends as well as TBC clergy, staff, teachers and B'nai Mitzvah Coaches. Please join us in celebrating Purim through this annual tradition! More information ....

TBC BIRTHDAY BOOKS: A New TBC Minhag (Custom)
Starting in March, we will be expanding on our practice of honoring the month's birthdays at Family Services by presenting everyone celebrating with the gift of a TBC Birthday Book!
If there are Jewish children's books that your family has loved, we would very much appreciate the donation of gently used copies. If your family loved the books a little too much, please consider purchasing and donating a new copy of your old favorite.
We're hoping to collect books for everyone from 1 to 13 years old. There is a basket in the front lobby labeled "Birthday Book Donations". Any donated books that aren't used as "Birthday Books" will be incorporated into our Carol J. Metzger Children's Library.

Wilton Reads:
The Tattooist of Auschwitz
February 27 to April 25 at the Wilton Library
The Wilton Library welcomes all community members to join the Wilton Library this spring as we come together to read, discuss and reflect upon The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris for our thirteenth Wilton Reads event. Wilton Reads has, for several years, given us an opportunity through fine literature to sharpen our view of ourselves and the world around us. This year's community-wide read will bring an exploration of the Holocaust through insightful programming and a collaboration with the Wilton Public Schools. More Information ....

Shabbat Family Service

he 3rd and 4th grade students will join Rabbi Bearman and Student Cantor Hamstra on the bimah to help lead our Family Service.
DON'T FORGET! This service will also be the debut of the new Birthday Book Minhag (Custom)! Everyone 13 and under who is celebrating a birthday in March will receive the gift of a Jewish book. It's going to be a wonderful evening!
Join us for another fun Shabbat Family Service starting at 6:00 pm with a kid-friendly preneg (pizza & veggies). At 6:30 pm, song, story and worship will be followed by a birthday celebration and oneg with a certified nut-free option at the dessert table.

e will share an old-fashioned deli meal, and then view Spike Lee's highly-acclaimed 2018 film "BlacKKKlansman". The film is based on the true story of Ron Stallworth, a Colorado Springs detective who went undercover to expose the KKK in the 1970's. With his Jewish front man Flip Zimmerman, the dynamic duo "playfully deconstructs this country's race problem from multiple angles, with a sense of humor and incisiveness." (

Wilton Clergy/Wi-ACT/WLA Interfaith Lecture:
Dr. Fariborz Mokhtari

This is an Interfaith Clergy-sponsored presentation by Dr. Fariborz Mokhtari, author of In The Lion's Shadow: The Iranian Schindler And His Homeland In The Second World War. Dr. Mokhtari will tell us about the efforts of an Iranian diplomat stationed in Paris who was instrumental in protecting numerous Jews from the Holocaust: truly an example of mutual respect, tolerance, and assistance among religious groups in the face of a shared danger.
This program was specially selected to complement this year's Wilton Library Association Wilton Reads program.
No charge but donations are always welcome.

TBC Diaper Collection Project!
The TBC Social Action Committee is seeking donations of diapers and wipes to benefit the Community Action Agency of Western Connecticut and the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Stamford, and Person-to-Person, Norwalk. For most parents, diapers for babies is a given. If you are living in poverty, however, they are often a luxury.

 Federation is a community of communities, we are also a vast library of stories and a vibrant garden with interconnected roots. This year, with the coordination and leadership of our Federation, many of those communities - congregations, organizations, and others have joined together to create Common Threads, a year-long project to explore our diverse ancestry and heritage and how it weaves together into our strong and integrated Upper Fairfield County community.

A great way of celebrating special simchas, such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, the birth of a child or grandchild, is sharing your nachas with the entire congregation by sponsoring the Shabbat Oneg, preneg or flowers for the Friday of your special week. We will arrange for the flowers, food, and set-up, you just make a minimum donation of $125 for an Oneg, $180 for a Preneg or $250 for the flowers. Sponsor a Shabbat!
