Principal's Message

Murwood Families,

We are privileged to participate in two exciting events this week that benefit not just our studnets here at Murwood, but all students in Walnut Creek, with whom our children will collaborate in the near future.  Please support both our PTA Crab and Pasta Feed Auction and Turn Up the Heat, because collaboration, the heart of who we are here at Murwood, always takes us further than competition. How can you help?
  • Purchase tickets and join us this Saturday night at our Crab and Pasta Feed.  Our PTA has gone over and above to make this the best community event, right in our backyard at the Elks Club.  Like to keep your calendar open, but want to drop by?  Tickets are available at the door, too! Here is your chance to call upon friends, neighbors and relatives for whom you have shown support to their schools.
    • Volunteer to help set up, work the event, or take down.
    • Create an account to bid on items and be sure your cell phone is charged. As always, you can donate to our Fund-A-Need (we are asking for support for tech items and Arts for All).  There are baskets, student art, parties, gatherings, and teacher treats.  I am off to bid!
  • Tomorrow is the first of two Turn Up the Heat days here at Murwood.  Today, your child will be bringing home a red envelope for you to donate whatever you can to WCEF.  We have had students donate change and grandparents show huge support.  All gifts are appreciated.  Look for Mrs. Sicotte, our student leaders, and I dressed in red at drop off and pick up to gather your envelopes.  Thank you!

News From the Office

Cold and Flu season is definitely upon us.  Lots of students have been out ill with an array of symptoms including low grade fevers, tummy aches, vomiting, and sore throats. We have had several cases of strep throat reported as well as the flu. Please make sure your child is getting lots of rest, eating well and drinking lots of fluids.  Also, make sure they dress in layers to accommodate the fluctuating temperatures. If your child does get sick, please keep them home until they are symptom free and/or fever free for 24 hours. And finally, if your child is going to be out, please be sure to notify the office.

Wishing health and wellness to everyone!
