January at Currituck CES
This year has gotten off to a very soggy start but that has not prevented your NC Cooperative Extension Office here in Currituck from offering some outstanding programs and educational opportunities to start the new year. If the dreary weather has you down, take a look at some of our upcoming programs and events in the middle portion of this newsletter and be sure to register for something that interests you. Also, take advantage of the opportunity to read the outstanding educational information from each of our program areas here as well.
If you’re wondering what we’ve been up to already this year, let me share some exciting stats! In January, our agriculture department held a corn production meeting for area farmers, conducted the monthly Extension Master Gardener Volunteer training and meeting, and our new Agriculture Agent, Adam Formella was out and about visiting farms and meeting area producers. Our 4-H Department conducted a very successful open house introducing many new families to all that 4-H has to offer. They also assisted our current 4-H members in finishing up their projects and preparing for competition. Our Family and Consumer Sciences department worked with a variety of audiences on nutrition, wellness and physical and financial fitness.
