February 2019
Maynard Critical Repair
Dear Habitat Friend,
February is the shortest month of the year, and yet there is so much for us to do this month. We are working hard to finish the School Street homes in the next four weeks and could use your help to get there! You can sign up to volunteer below, and please save the date of March 16th at 10 a.m. for the dedication. If you haven't yet been to a home dedication, they are a joyous time of celebration. I hope you'll join us to welcome the families into their new homes and celebrate all your hard work in building the homes. Speaking of hard work, the wonderful Stow Local Project Committee spent a day sanding, painting and installing cabinets at the School Street site--great training for our future build in Stow and thank you to the Stow LPC for helping your neighbors.

We wouldn't be able to fulfill our mission in north central MA without the help of so many great organizations. EXIT New Options Realty and EXIT Assurance have been partners in our building for almost six and almost three years respectively, and their agents donate 1% of their commissions to help us build homes right here in the local area. Their generosity has helped us to build nine more homes so please thank their agents when you see them. Also, local resident Mark recommended to his employer, TJX, our critical home repair program as a possible grant recipient. And we were awarded the grant! Thank you so much, Mark!

Thank you for all you do to help your neighbors. Enjoy this month focused on love, and thanks for helping us build strength, security and self-reliance through shelter.
In partnership,
Carolyn

The ReStore is our discount home improvement center. We accept donations of new and gently used items from individuals and local businesses, and sell to the public at a reduced cost, usually 50-70% of the original retail value. All profits support home ownership for hard working, low income families in North Central Massachusetts, while keeping good, reusable materials in use and out of the landfill.
Open Wednesday through Saturday, 10am-5pm.
