What Northwest Georgia Needs Most
Please take a few minutes to give your input
Your locally elected officials (mayors and county commissioners) of Northwest Georgia are required, by state law, to update and create a five-year plan for the region. The Northwest Georgia Regional Council , made up of the region's locally elected officials, is responsible for gathering feedback from the public in order to create a plan that addresses the region's top priorities.

By taking this brief survey you can give your community's leaders the input they need to determine the region's needs and how to best address those needs.
Downtown Master Plan Roll Out Recap

In early 2018, Believe Greater Dalton partnered with the Downtown Dalton Development Authority on a dow ntown master planning process through the Georgia Downtown Renaissance Partnership. Faculty and staff of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at UGA worked for almost a year to develop the plan that represents input from over 1000 members of our community, and on February 5 th over 300 people attended the public roll out. The master plan focuses on connectivity, housing, business expansion and entrepreneurship, arts and community space, key projects, and those that attended left with great enthusiasm and excitement over all the possibilities it presents. In case you missed it, a copy of the plan in its entirety and the recording of the presentation can be found at www.believegreaterdalton.com .
Welcome Sarah Murry
We are thrilled to announce that  Sarah Murry   has accepted the role of Greater Dalton Marketing Director.

“I moved to Dalton in 2009, a couple of years after college. Even though I didn’t grow up here, it felt like coming home because I grew up visiting my grandparents in Dalton on a regular basis. I moved in with my family who had been here since 2002. Since coming here in ’09 I have made friends, re-discovered the downtown area, met my husband, had children, and have come to love Northwest Georgia even more than I did growing up. I am excited to raise my kids in a town like Dalton. I love the growth that’s happening right now. The air is really full of potential and it’s great to see so many businesses choosing to open their doors in Dalton… I love the rich history of this area. I love the fact that I can walk from my office to the Oakwood and eat lunch, just like my Grandmother did when she worked at the telephone company as a young woman. There is an exciting mix of tradition and innovation here… I’ve lived many places, but Dalton is a unique community.”
